We often wonder how invested animal dads are in their children, especially because they can be quite a handful. It’s difficult enough for us humans to raise one baby – and with the average dog litter being around five to six puppies, our hearts really go out to all of the doggy moms and dads out there.
We think it’s safe to say that dog moms are a little more nurturing towards their babies, as they have a lot more responsibility when it comes to feeding them and teaching them how to do things for themselves.
Really, it’s the dad’s choice whether he wants to play a part in his puppies’ lives – but here in 2020, gender roles are a thing of the past, so it’s always adorable to watch when a dad is mucking in and doing his bit.
With that in mind, when we came across a YouTube video titled, “French bulldog playing with his pups” we just knew that we were going to love it. The video was posted by dykwilabjae, and since being shared it has been viewed by over 8 million people all over the world.
In the video, the dad is trying to be an important role model for his five little adorable pups. They range in color from black to brown to spotted like their dad, and we honestly want them all!
Of course, every dad knows that the most important thing to teach your children is how to play – and this dad is determined to teach them from a young age.
To do this, the sweet dad creates a fun game for all of his puppies, involving a lot of running, pouncing and hiding. Not only is it totally adorable that he’s teaching them how to play, but he’s also giving mama a much needed rest, and tiring out the puppies so that they are ready for nap time. What a top dad!
At first, some of the pups seem a little hesitant as they try and figure out the rules behind this new game. But eventually, they all begin to play along, and there’s one puppy in particular who loves this new game!
Funnily enough, the puppy who’s most invested in the game looks like an exact mini-me of his dad! Like father, like son.
