Her former owners failed her big time by nearly starving her until she ceased to exist.

This “tiny but mighty” kitten is the only one of her siblings to have survived being nearly starved to death by her former owners.

They failed her big time!

Even worse, the same folks who let her waste away then brought her to the vet to be put down for good.

Lulu was riddled with fleas, hookworms, and had lost most of her fur by the time she was taken in by a local pet clinic.

One might think the reason she lost her lush coat of fluff was due to the lack of food. But the truth is much, much worse.

All the kittens in the litter we so hungry, they ate each other’s fur to try and stay alive!

Kiki, of Best Friends Felines, shared with Bored Panda how her organization first became aware of Lulu’s plight:

“A local vet nurse contacted me about a kitten in need of rescue after being surrendered to her clinic by her owners to be put to sleep. She arrived with all her siblings who were all deceased.”

Best Friends Felines is a rescue center in Brisbane, Australia that saves cats just like Lulu from death row.

Kitty wasn’t about to give up any of her 9 lives just yet.

“Lulu was incredibly emaciated and her odds of surviving were not great as her organs had taken a beating being so starved, not to mention the flea and worm burden.”

Even though her chances of living to see another day were pretty slim, this spunky gal had already made it this far. And with all the love and attention she was now getting from people who actually cared, her will to survive grew even stronger!

Watch her transform from a scraggly, flea-ridden critter into a gorgeous calico.

“She was never ashamed to yell for your attention and demand cuddles! She adored everyone she met, from humans to other cats and dogs.”

Seriously, who does this adorable baby remind you of? “E.T. phone home!” LOL

It broke Kiki’s heart to see just how tiny and fragile Lulu was when she saw her for the first time in person.

At 300 grams, this kitten was half the body weight she should have been for her age.

But, as soon as her flea and worm problems got under control, the pretty kitty really started to thrive.

“She started to gain weight and her fur started to grow back. She moved to another of our foster carers who have a single kitten, Peach, who came in much like Lulu in body condition, and the two girls hit it off immediately.”

As her energy levels began to soar, Lulu’s real personality started to shine through!

“Lulu was one of those kittens that captured your heart instantly, not just because of her condition, but because she has the biggest personality, boldly confident and super outgoing.”

Girl went from looking mighty tiny to mighty chonky!

As you can see, Lulu has turned into a full-fledged feline and is owning all the perks that come with being the big cat on campus, like:

  • Taking shameless selfies of her fluffy butt after an all-night catnip bender
  • Giving no effs about the un-ladylike way she’s displaying her goods
  • Telling you to “hold my beer” when you give her a little bit of suss for sneaking in after curfew

It took many months to recover, but eventually, Lulu was put up for adoption.

“In no time, Lulu seemed to turn into a full-time purr machine and insisted on soaking up all the love and attention from everyone around her…”

The formerly starved calico is now living it up as the spoiled overseer to her new hooman. Having 9 lives rules!
