When you think about animals who run fast, we are sure that cats aren’t the first that comes to mind.
Besides, we know them as these poised animals who love to sleep.
But this particular cat named Rackarkatten is not your ordinary feline. And here’s why.

The cat, together with her humans, live in an apartment in the city.
But to the kitty’s delight, they spend their weekends in a country house and it’s Rackarkatten’s favorite place.
“We always went for short walks and when we would head back home, she wanted to race to the door,” her owner shared.
It’s her way to burn energy.
“She isn’t very active indoors,” he continued to share about his cat. “She just eats, sleeps, and cuddles.”

Rackarkatten is pretty much like any ordinary indoor cat, but take her outside and the story changes.
She basically becomes a whole new feline once she’s given access outdoors.
She’s more of an outdoor cat.
Thanks to her humans’ country house, she gets to enjoy a whole backyard and even a forest to herself. She undoubtedly adores it.
Not only that, she enjoys running around so much that she’s always up for some good ol’ race.

This kitty runs like a cheetah.
“She loves running so we decided to have these races we started when she was about two years old,” he fondly and proudly shared. “In the summertime, maybe two per week [and in the] winter, two per month.”
At first, the cat was surprised when she saw her human run so seriously.
But it didn’t take long before she loved it for herself.

He even records their time.
“She’s very eager to start running when we’re close to the starting line,” the cat dad remarked. “The fastest race I have on video is 60 meters in 5.8 seconds.”
Indeed, that IS fast.
The cat may be one ball of fluffy goodness, but behind it is a highly competitive animal.
In the 12 years they have been racing, she has never lost—not even once.

Rackarkatten truly is an explorer.
She loves checking things out, climbing huge boulders, and just spending her time living her best life outdoors.
For this reason, her family decided to permanently live in the country house to give their beloved cat her most desired home.
“I’m so grateful to have her in my life. She’s such a good and fun friend,” he shared. “She’s taught me to slow down and spend more time at home. She taught me that it’s amazing to just sit and enjoy the forest.”

The love between Rackarkatten and her family is truly evident.
Just the thought of them making such a big decision to move and live a totally different life just goes to show that they truly treat their cat as their family.
The world needs more people like them.
