One cold day, a stray cat wandered into a Brooklyn fire station, looking for help. The firefighters at Station 57 quickly came to the cat’s aid, petting her and giving her food. The cat was a bit shy at first, but she soon made herself at home. The cat decided that she liked living at the fire station, and the firefighters were happy to have her there too.

Two years later, the cat still happily lives at Station 57.

The firefighters at Station 57 treat the cat like she’s part of the family, and they all love having her around.

“Alternative homes are a wonderful solution to the problem of homeless kitties,” Station 57 told Love Meow.

The firefighters decided to name the cute kitty Killer. On Killer’s Instagram page, they explained the surprising name choice:

“They call her Killer because she took care of our mouse problem when she moved in. We were having a contest to get her a nicer name but then she started bringing home rats.”

Killer’s favorite thing in the world is getting brushed. The firefighters use a special pink and purple brush, and as soon as Killer sees it, she starts purring.

She also loves sitting in the firefighters’ laps. She’ll often curl up in their laps and take long naps.

Killer has also made friends with other fire station’s pets, like El Chapo, a pit bull who lives at a fire station in Red Hook.
