Meet Ricky: a sweet 17-year-old Siamese cat who loves attention more than anything in the world.
Ricky’s owners absolutely love their senior cat, and they’re happy to give him all the cuddles and pets he wants. There’s also another reason why Ricky loves getting cuddles: he has arthritis, and when his family pets him it helps soothe his aching joints.
While Ricky’s mom, Debbie Morse, would like to spend all her time petting Ricky, she does have to sometimes get up and move around her house. And so, she came up with the perfect solution: she created a special sling that she could use to pet Ricky while she was walking around!
“He follows my mum around the house meowing till she strokes him so she thought this would help,” Debbie’s daughter, Felicity Morse, wrote on Twitter.
Debbie put Ricky in the sling, hoping he would like it. It was immediately a hit!
Ricky absolutely loved being carried by his mom, and he liked that she was able to easily scratch his belly. Whenever Debbie started petting him, Ricky would close his eyes and purr happily. Debbie and Felicity were both thrilled that this solution worked.
“[My mom] invented this sling so he feels comforted and less lonely,” Felicity told The Dodo. “The warmth and cuddles really help his arthritis.”
Felicity shared a video of her mom holding Ricky to Twitter, and it quickly went viral. Everyone loved seeing how happy and content Ricky looked!
“This is Ricky,” Felicity’s dad says in the video. “Relaxing, so he can get attention. And he’s quite chilled about it.”

Felicity also said that her family had had Ricky since he was a kitten. She shared an adorable throwback video of Debbie giving Ricky a bath. It’s clear that this cat is very well-loved and pampered!
“He’s so gentle and chilled,” Debbie told The Dodo. “He’s worth his weight in gold.”

When Ricky isn’t in his sling, he enjoys hanging out with the family dog. He’s also a big fan of cuddling on the couch with his dad. This senior cat has a great life.
Ricky is an adorable senior cat who has a family who loves him more than anything. Ricky’s family will always go the extra mile to make him happy.
