Family of birds broke into couple’s home a year ago and now come back to visit every day
I love how they go right up to them and perch on their shoulders and hands.

Having visitors is always nice, but not when they’re uninvited. It gets worse when the visitor is an animal.

While an uninvited human guest will just obnoxiously waste your time or help themselves to your couch, an uninvited animal guest will make much more of a mess.

In many parts of the world, the animals that might wander into your home are raccoons or stray cats.

They can really cause quite a mess, and they can smell too.

But some animal visitors can be a little more pleasant, even if they weren’t invited. So much so that you might just warm up to them.

A bunch of wild lorikeets invited themselves into this Australian couple’s home some time ago.

Since they can fly, birds can get to places other nosey creatures can’t. You won’t see a raccoon or a stray cat entering the windows on a multi-story apartment. But for birds like lorikeets, it’s nothing.

So if you have any food that catches their noses, then be prepared for them to just invite themselves in if they’re nearby.

Georgina and Christian had this happen to them with the lorikeets.

The trees near the couple’s apartment served as a home for those wild lorikeets. This meant any food the couple happen to have was well within short flying distance for the birds.

And don’t worry, we’ve got a video to watch that shows what all this is about.

The video wastes no time at all. Right from the first frame, you can see the absolutely numerous lorikeets hanging out inside their apartment.

It must be fun to spend the afternoon like this. Enjoying the noon sky from your balcony while some adorable lorikeets feed from your palm.

Just make sure they don’t nip at your fingers, obviously. We all know how much that hurts.

Lorikeets are part of the parrot family. Specifically, the old world parrots.

Parrots, or Psittaciformes, are a pretty big order of birds. There are nearly 400 species of various body sizes. You know some of the large ones as macaws, and lorikeets and parakeets are some of the smaller ones.

These lorikeets are particularly attracted to the grapes that Christian and Georgina keep in their apartment.

This should come as no surprise since lorikeets’ natural diet consists of nectar, seeds, and fruits.

They’re even considered a bit of a nuisance to fruit farmers since flocks of lorikeets like to decimate and eat all the fruit they find on farms.

Georgina and Christian say that the lorikeets are regular guests now, often watching TV with them and chilling on their couch.

But lorikeets being lorikeets, these ones still prove to be a hassle sometimes. Particularly when they demand more food with all the noise they can make.

Nonetheless, the young couple puts up with it because they enjoy their company that much. They even named some of the birds and recognize which ones are which.

See just how close the lorikeets get to them in the video below.
