Cats are easily scared of almost everything. They get easily startled by loud and sudden sounds, and sometimes, even just seeing an unfamiliar object lying around the floor, cats will jump up and run.

It is just silly and funny that little things could scare our smug and superior-acting felines. This made one cat owner wonder, what if you let them watch a horror movie?

We get scared while watching a good horror movie, and surely enough, our cats could feel the same way too if they get to watch one. The surprising jump scares, the loud and sudden noises, as well as the suspenseful background music of a horror movie, are all enough to instill fear to anyone. They would probably run out of the room or just freeze on the spot in fear, though it’s hard to be sure.

Well, this one person got a cat to watch a horror movie at home.

This adorable tabby cat was secretly filmed while the owners were watching a scary movie. The camera was set up in an angle so that the only thing we can see is the cat right in front of it. The cat was focused on the television that was behind the camera, and the speakers were producing suspenseful music, making the cat feel a little uneasy about it.

The cat froze on the spot as he listened to the scary background music and the sounds coming from the TV. Also, the cat’s eyes were glued on the TV screen, watching the random moving objects in it.

The scares kept coming and the poor cat was just anxiously sitting on the floor.

The poor cat just planted himself on the floor as his eyes shifted from the random objects on the screen while his ears were flooded with the unnerving sounds. You would notice the cat’s pupils dilating and narrowing back and forth as he watched the movie scene.

Due to the series of frights, the uneasy cat just tucked his front paws underneath his body. Watching the cat’s uneasiness was hilarious yet you would pity him for keeping himself there for so long. In the end, the cat could not hold on for much longer and just leapt away as soon as he heard the woman’s screams at the most suspenseful part of the movie.

The cat’s eyes are able to tell us what they are feeling.

For example, the dilation of their pupils denotes either excitement or fear. Meanwhile, the narrowing could mean different things like pleasure, anger, and even fear. For those reasons, you have to properly look around and observe cues from their body so you will be able to understand them.

This could just be our reaction while watching all the things going down in 2020.

2020 will be remembered as the year of unfortunate events, and for this, it is just like watching a horror movie out of the screen. The cat’s reaction to the movie might just be our reactions if ever the events of this year are compressed into an hour-length movie. Although, we should all be hopeful that this year will get better before it ends.
