Do you sometimes wonder if your dog could recognize you if you acted or dressed up like someone else? Well, one guy actually tried this experiment with his dog.
This adorable white fluff went to the park with his owner but had no idea what was about to happen.
Milky, the fluffy Samoyed, went for a walk outside with one of his owners. What Milky did not know was his other owner (the younger sibling of the one tugging his leash) was lying in wait in the park. The brothers wanted to know whether Milky could recognize his owner if they acted like a normal passerby.
Milky’s owner grabbed his mask and wore it, hoping that the Samoyed wouldn’t recognize him.
Since dogs are known to be great at remembering faces, the younger brother covered his face as much as possible in order to throw off Milky’s perception, or so they hoped. The first test was on the pedestrian lane where both of them passed by each other. When they executed the plan, Milky wasn’t able to detect his other owner since he was rushing to cross the street.
On the second attempt, they tried to see if Milky could recognize his owner from an open space when they kept a long distance away from each other. They decided to try this because they knew Milky could recognize them from afar. As proof, the brothers showed a clip of Milky recognizing them when he was inside a dog park.
Milky stopped and stared at the distance where his owner was standing.
The dog also took a while to make sure that it was really his owner and then barked at him. However, their second experiment failed because they were just too far away. Even though Milky sensed something, it was not enough to keep him intrigued.
Lastly, they tried passing right by each other to see if Milky would react. With Milky’s detection skills, he was able to recognize the little brother from afar. Both of the owners expected a much more dramatic reaction from Milky. Still, they found out that no matter how much they cover themselves, Milky could still see through them.
After the experiment, they all enjoyed a nice walk in the park with a lot of people asking for pictures with Milky.

The video racked up more than 17 million views after sitting on the platform for six months. The channel features the daily lives of his Samoyed and his Norwegian Forest cat. How do dogs recognize their owners?
Dogs could recognize their owners with just a glance, but there is more to it than that. According to Fetch, dogs could recognize their owners through their facial expressions and social cues. To add, they could also sniff out whether a person is a stranger or their owner. However, the experiment that Milky’s owner did was limited to changing his appearance, and even if he covered his whole face, Milky could still recognize him from his scent and the sweet bond that they shared.
