Meet Aimee, a delightful pit bull with a heart full of love for humans.
She found herself in Carson Animal Care Center, a high-kill shelter in California.
This poor canine was not only frightened and anxious but also suffering from a painful skin condition.
Aimee’s plight caught the attention of the volunteers from the rescue group, Saving Carson Shelter Dogs.
They were moved by her situation and immediately decided to extend their help.
This organization is known for filming the dogs housed in Carson Animal Care Center and sharing these videos on their Facebook page, a strategy that has successfully led to numerous adoptions.
The rescue group didn’t waste any time and promptly shared a video of Aimee in her kennel.
The sight of visitors seemed to fill the adorable dog with excitement.
The video description read, “Aimee is adorable, short and the sweetest little baby!
She is super cute and once her skin heals she is going to feel amazing.
Please share for her life, she needs a temperament test requested in person by an Interested Party before the Shelter will allow her to be saved.”
Along with the video, Saving Carson Shelter Dogs also shared some heartwarming photos of Aimee.
One of them showed her sitting on a vibrant blanket, looking as cute as a button.
The strategy worked like a charm.
Just a few days after her arrival at the shelter, a family expressed their desire to adopt her!
The rescue group captured Aimee’s joyous departure from the shelter on camera.
It was supposed to be a freedom walk, but Aimee was so thrilled that it turned into a freedom run.
She enthusiastically greeted her new family members, which included her mom, dad, and three brothers.
One of the boys held Aimee’s leash as she took her first steps towards her new life.
The video of Aimee’s freedom run was captioned, “Aimee has to be the cutest little hippo that ever took her Freedom Run out of the Shelter into the arms of her new family!
Thanks to all of you sharing, she is safe tonight. Happy life Aimee,” by Saving Carson Shelter Dogs.
Aimee’s departure video quickly went viral.
People were deeply moved by Aimee’s infectious excitement and happiness.
One Facebook user commented, “So happy for this precious angel to have a forever home!”
A year after her adoption, Aimee’s new mom, Kim Sullivan, shared an update about the dog.
Aimee’s skin condition had completely healed, and she looked blissfully happy and comfortable in her new home.
Kim captioned the photo, “Here in all her shining glory almost 1 year later.”
Aimee’s journey from a scared shelter dog to a beloved family pet is truly inspiring.
She was once terrified and uncertain about her future, but now she’s found a loving family that adores her.
