What’s cuter than a full-sized elephant? A baby elephant, of course! These little — or really, big — creatures always make us smile. They’re just so cute and playful.
Scientists also think that when we see a little animal that needs to be looked after, our parental instincts automatically kick into gear!
But in the case of this adorable encounter, which consisted of a baby elephant trying to find an elephant nose that just wasn’t there, it was a grown-up woman who needed to be saved!
Not that anyone really needs to be rescued from a cuddle puddle of baby elephants. Because that’s just heaven on earth, right?
Moments like this is what probably what Buddha was talking about when he kept mentioning “there is pleasure and there is bliss.”
What would you do if someone just walked onto your land, plopped their bum on the grass, and started making themselves at home – in YOUR home?
That’s exactly what this woman did at an unknown elephant reserve in India.
So of course all the inexperienced kiddos were going to wander over to the little picnic spot she made for herself, just so they could see what this soft, pink human was all about.
And what’s the best way to investigate something new and strange, that might bite, bark, or claw back at you?
Well, ya poke it with your trunk and see if it makes a fun squeaky noise!
Like anyone else in her enviable position would do, this lucky woman squeaked and squealed with delight when one of the baby elephants walked over to her and insisted on exploring her face with his fuzzy, wet trunk.
Baby elephants are arguably (or rather, unarguably!) the cutest animals on the planet.
When videos go viral, you can almost be certain there’s a trunk-wielding tyke behind the shenanigans.
When YouTuber @Amystan uploaded a video that showed a curious calf trying to find this woman’s nose by feeling around her face with his trunk, everyone went crazy over his brazen cheekiness.
An elephant’s trunk, which is a fusion of their nose and upper lip, is absolutely critical for their survival. It has more than 10,000 different muscles, which gives it lots of dexterity.
Whereas we use the internet to gather information, elephants use their trunks for the exact same purpose.
Looks like this misguided little guy was just trying to “Google” the woman’s nose, and his search came up short. Very, short!
Their trunks play a huge role in their social interaction with the herd. They use it for hugging, caressing, and comforting one another.
And get this – baby elephants even suck on their trunks like it’s a binky!
The fact that this baby elephant is using his trunk to touch and feel the woman’s face isn’t unusual behavior at all. He was probably just trying to sneak a sweet kiss from his new BFF!
Under normal circumstances, an elephant will use their trunk to find food and water, and they have an amazing sense of smell to help them accomplish this.
However, they also use it for a less practical purpose: to have fun and play. We’re guessing that’s what’s on display in this adorable video.
