This amazing story of pet love brought a tear to our eyes.
Pets are not just animals to their owners; they are family members.
Animals love the humans that take care of them unconditionally, and they give back the love they receive multiplied.
Okay, maybe cats really want to conquer the world and see us as their slaves, but you can’t say the same for dogs.
Man’s best friend only knows how to give love and affection. Doggies adore their owners and would do anything for them – there have been numerous cases in which dogs saved their owners or helped them overcome difficulties.
Although there are cruel people who mistreat and often abuse animals, thankfully, there are also those who would go above and beyond for their furry friends.
Just take the example of Maggie’s family, who organized a sweet last surprise for her.
Maggie was a lovely dog that had been with a Utah family for years. Sadly, she recently developed cancer and her illness was incurable.
So, when her family realized that they were soon to lose their best friend, they decided to spend her last days doing things she enjoyed.
One of Maggie’s favorite things was snow. But it was summer.
So, although the season didn’t help, they decided to create snow and let Maggie play in it and have fun since they knew that she wouldn’t be around in winter.
“Does anyone have a shaved ice machine they have put away for the season? Our sweet dog Maggie is passing of cancer and on Monday we want to build her one last snowbank to roll in,” Maggie’s owners posted on social media.
The request traveled and reached the Salt Lake County Ice Center. When they read the post, they decided to help Maggie live this adventure by creating snow for her.
Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation wrote on Facebook:
“Today, our staff shaved some extra ice, loaded it into bins and buckets, and the owner took the snow home, to Maggie’s backyard, where she enjoyed it with her family.”
Indeed, Maggie’s Snow was a huge success and the sweet dog got to enjoy rolling in it for one last time.
“This morning we filled bins, buckets and the back of his van with the ice shavings from the rink. Maggie enjoyed her last morning with her two favorite things, snow and her owners,” Salt Lake County Ice Center said in their Facebook post.
It is so comforting to know that in a world where hatred and violence make the front page every day, there are still genuinely good people who love unconditionally and do whatever it takes to make another being happy.
Maggie was truly a lucky dog. She didn’t just have owners, she had a caring and loving family who tried to do the best for her until the end.
