According to pet-helpful, donkeys form incredibly strong friendships and are surprisingly affectionate. They seek out their trusted humans or other animals, whether to be petted or simply to stand nearby.

They are also pretty crafty.

This donkey which goes by the name of Steve gives the most adorable response when his owner has a heart-to-heart with him about breaking into the feed shed. The owner noticed that the break-ins only occurred when Steve was free.

“Now I’m not saying it’s you. I’m just saying that there seems to be a correlation between when you’re free and when the break-ins happen to the feed shed,” the owners says to Steve.

The Donkey’s owner just doesn’t stand a chance.

In an effort to avoid his owner’s accusations, Steve starts licking his face and head making it hard for his owner to stay upset. How could anyone stay mad at this precious animal?

Thousands of YouTube commenters weighed in on the actions of this clever animal.

One commenter stated:

“I had no idea that donkeys could turn on “puppy eyes”. So cute.. Steve’s a sweetheart.”
Another commenter was also smitten by the donkey.
“I don’t know what I love more. How adorable he is or the fact that he’s called Steve.”

It’s hard to deny an animal’s affection.

Steve knows he’s been caught red-handed.

He also knows how to win his owner back over. With just a few kisses here and there he’ll be able to melt his owner’s heart. Donkeys also don’t get much credit for being smart but they are smarter than you think.

Donkeys are very sharp and intelligent animals.

Although they may move slowly and never seem to be in a hurry, they’re very smart and capable of solving complex problems myanimals.com states. If this is the case, then breaking into a shed would be a piece of cake.

I love you too!
