But sadly, when mini Dachshund Sage passed away from old age, Harlow the Weimaraner had a hole in her heart to fill.

Harlow now had a new bestie and things were going great. But since their humans are animal lovers, things changed drastically one day when they decided to add a puppy to the family.
And since Harlow and Sage had amassed a huge following on social media, it was clear that fans would also have to accept the new puppy as well.
One year after Indiana was adopted, Reese Lightning became the new girl in town.
Reese is also a miniature Dachshund and everyone was nervous about how her introduction to the older siblings would go.

Of course, everybody loves a puppy, so not only did the two dogs decide she was a perfect fit, but the family gained even more followers.

Then came Ezra.
And once again, no one could resist an adorable puppy.
Ezra had been one of three foster dogs in the home and has some neurological and vision problems, but they all simply fell in love with him and couldn’t give him up, especially since Harlow became so good at helping to guide him around.

“It was an extremely positive experience for our family,” the dogs’ mom told Country Living of the fostering process. “Our three dogs, Harlow, Indiana and Reese all bonded with the puppies and helped tremendously with the puppy training process.”
The doggie foursome now takes some of the sweetest and funniest photos on Instagram, constantly entertaining their impressive 1.7 MILLION followers!

In 2018, the family adopted “cat-dog” Malcolm – and he fit in beautifully. It’s pretty clear that this is a family that trains their pets well!

The most recent addition is Alba – a kitten.
Malcolm and Alba even have their own Instagram account with over 10,000 followers!

And in case that didn’t seem like enough cuteness (and hard work), the family continues to care for foster pups so that they can be socialized and find themselves a good home.

Now we just want to know when WE can move in!
But we’ll have to ask Brittni Vega and her husband Jeff – it’s their house. And the duo seems to have a great relationship with a rescue organization called Nuzzles & Co when it comes to bringing in new tenants.
We’re grateful to families like the Vegas for putting needy animals front and center and sharing their journeys on social media so others can see just how rewarding it is to foster and adopt animals in need.
