Camouflage isn’t just a print style, it’s a lifestyle – well at least for hunters it is! For animals, however, it is often a tool for survival. Depending on the environment, some animals have adapted to blend in perfectly with their surroundings. Sometimes, the camouflage is so perfect, they are literally impossible to see.

Camouflage, also called cryptic coloration, is a defense mechanism or tactic that organisms use to disguise their appearance, usually to blend in with their surroundings. Organisms use camouflage to mask their location, identity, and movement. – National Geographic

Since dogs have been domesticated for so long now, is it possible they are beginning to blend into their environment? Will they soon be invisible inside the home? We can’t be sure, but we do know that these sneaky pups are experts in the field of invisibility.

1. Seen on a walk

If this is the first one on the list, it could turn out to be an impossible task! The walkers could hear the little fellow at first, but weren’t able to see him until much later. Need help? Look in the direct center.

2. VERY tiny

The smaller you are, the easier it is for you to hide. That’s usually the case, at least. This little guy seems to have learned that the best way to hide is in plain sight. Look on the far right side of the white pillow.

3. Among the fluffies

This one is definitely easier than the first two. You can just see the little boy in the direct center of the pile. It’s definitely the cutest picture we’ve seen so far!

4. Shrub dog

Some dogs have certain things they love. This dog apparently has a thing for shrubs! He is a bit in the distance and hard to see, but that’s the point, right? It’s a new breed called a “shrub dog”.

5. This is why you buy orange vests

If you ever wondered why people put orange vests on their animals, it’s for pictures like this! If it wasn’t a still photo and you didn’t have time to look for him, he would be borderline invisible.

6. The tail gave him away

He WOULD have been fine, but his tail gave him away. Can you see where it just barely reveals him? It was so close, but it does just make the whole situation cuter!

7. Same color paint

This family got a new fence and lost their dog, all on the same day. Oh wait, they didn’t lose their dog? Oh, I see it. It’s just literally the EXACT same color as the fence they bought.

8. There are two dogs

The first one should be easy to see cause it’s literally laying right on the floor. The second one is quite a bit sneakier! If you can be cuddled up AND hidden at the same time, it’s legendary.

9. Just a peek

This one is all about angles and lines. Look for the lines of a dog’s face breaking a straight line. When you do, you might find a furry face staring right back! It’s off in the distance though, so you also may need to zoom.

10.“My husband couldn’t understand why I sent him this picture of our living room. Daisy’s a ninja.”

If you see it right away, it doesn’t seem that funny. If you don’t, it’s hysterical! You know that her husband was so confused and concerned that his wife was losing it.
