A video of golden retriever refusing to leave a pet store has gone viral on Instagram.
Rufio is the name of a one-year-old golden retriever with a very busy schedule, according to ABC News. As a certified therapy dog, this golden retriever spends most of his day assisting other people.
When a shopping trip possibly doubling as retail therapy for this pooch came to an end too soon, Rufio was not shy about letting his owner know.
Rufio’s owner captured a picture of the certified therapy dog who refused to willingly exit the pet store.
In the Instagram video titled “when you’re not done partying yet,” viewers see the owner attempting to leave the store while Rufio uses all of the weight of his body as an anchor to prevent his owner from leaving. After lying down, the certified therapy dog rolls to his back to stop his owner from leaving the store.
At one point in time, the owner tells Rufio it was time to exit the store. Rufio, however, did not seem interested in what his owner said.
People on Instagram think the video is hilarious.
Nearly 500,000 people have viewed the video of Rufio. For the most part, people greeted the video with support, appreciation, and wit. Many people commented with potential captions one could use with this video.
One Instagram commenter joked, “when you don’t wanna leave bae for work.”
Some reminisced on the days when their small children begged for “just five more minutes” while doing something fun.
Some even tagged a significant other and used it as a sweet gesture noting it was how they feel every time they have to spend time apart.
The video is also viral on YouTube.
Also posted on YouTube with the title “when your dog doesn’t want to leave the pet store,” the video went viral with a little more than 430,000 views. YouTube account Storyful noted this golden retriever understood how to get his way.
For the most part, YouTube users commented regarding “how adorable” or “how sweet” the video was. One user even noted only a “monster” would give the video a thumbs down. One YouTube user even went out of their way to offer a detailed explanation as to why the dog reacted in such a way when leaving the pet store.
“Dogs lose their minds at the pet store. It’s a warehouse overrun with play things, fresh scents, and free treats. For canines, Petco is Six Flags meets Chuck E. Cheese’s. The problem is that, as this golden retriever shows, it’s so hard to leave. Maybe that’s why it plays dead and makes its human drag it out of the store.”
Rufio managed to say a lot without saying anything at all.
