Do you remember when you were a kid and you knocked on your best friend’s door to ask if they could come out and play?

Remember how incredulous you were if their parents kept them from joining you?

Well, three little dogs in China are giving everyone flashbacks to childhood with a viral video.

Poodle prison

Hani the poodle was tied up in his owner’s shop in the eastern Chinese city of Lianyungang when his furry friend stopped by to beckon him outside.

His owner, who gave the name “Ms. Xiang” to interviewers at the Daily Mail, took some hilarious video of the moment and it quickly went viral in China.

Mr. Xiang was keeping her dog on a leash at the time, but when the pup appeared from next door, Hani was eager to be set free. But being well-trained, he didn’t pull.

He simply had to watch as his friend tried to give him the “c’mon, let’s go” look.

And things got even funnier as the free dog kept hopping towards him and then the door as if to give him the hint that he needed to come along outside.

Hani wagged his tail, then sat down, likely hoping that mom would let him off the leash.

Showing him how it’s done

Ms. Xiang told the Daily Mail that the little dog looked like he was trying to teach her poodle how to sneak out.

Then, in a hilarious and unexpected moment, we find out there’s a third dog somewhere in the shop that’s not tied up.

And, in a blur, it bolts out to join the free dog.

But they can’t go anywhere without Hani – he and his friend have a strong bond. And this is clearly a no dog left behind situation.

“They would play every day. Sometimes Hani would go out to find its friend, and other times the other dog would come to find Hani,” Xiang said.

Mom, can I please go?

Finally, Hani turns around to give his mom some kisses to soften her up. He’s been such a good boy, never acting up, never pulling at his leash – and it’s clear that playing with his friend is something he does often.

So what’s the hold-up, mom?

Eventually, mom relents – and she can be heard saying “okay, you go play with your friends” as she lets him free from his tether.

And we have to admit that we were pleased to see Hani get let off his leash and get to go running outside before anyone could change their minds.

Of course, we were also a little nervous since it looks like the threesome bolted right out into the middle of a street!

Hani’s mom follows the little rascals out of the shop with her camera, but they’re long gone.

The smallest dog turns back as if to say “thanks” and then sets off to play with them.

And from there, we can only assume they’re safe and know what they’re doing as they run off for some hard-earned playtime.

The footage was posted to Douyin, the Chinese equivalent of TikTok, and quickly gained nearly three-quarters of a million “likes.”
