Sometimes, the most unlikely friends also make the cutest friends.

A bulldog named Manfred was recently introduced to a group of steers, and what happened was pretty surprising. The dog and the steers became great friends, and their owners captured it all on video.

The little brown bulldog appears to be a little shy at first.

He lays on the ground and appears to be curious about the steers but also a little nervous to approach them. He slowly scoots toward them on the other side of the fence. They appear to be just as interested in him.

When he gets close enough to the fence, the big steers stick their heads out to sniff him. He may be little, but they don’t know what he’s capable of. They are just as shy and nervous as the bulldog. Once they decide he smells OK, they start licking him.

The bulldog responds well to this and allows them to give him kisses.

He scoots closer to them and puts his nose against theirs. They all lick and kiss each other and instantly become friends. The bulldog may be outnumbered, but it looks like he has some big buddies protecting him now.

The video was shared on YouTube and got thousands of views and hundreds of comments.

The comments include one by Find Vegan that said:

“Animals show compassion. So, should we all. Learn about the vegan lifestyle which is important to the animals, our planet, and even your health if you want it to be. Meat and dairy are associated with cancer, but vegetables are not. That’s fact. Vegan: All the nutrition, flavor, and products needed to thrive.”

“The article that sent me here said ‘this proves animals are just like us!’ – nah, they are way better than us.. if that were humans they’d be saying ‘OMG look! He/she is different than we are so let’s bash him/her! Let’s fall back on a bunch of old stereotypes as the reason we refuse to interact!’”

One thing is for sure: Neither the dog or the steers seem to care what anyone else thinks.

This was love at first sight for all of them, and now they have a strong new friendship. It may seem rare to see animals like this becoming friends, but it just proves that animals don’t care about their differences and they know love when they see it.
