Jason Brown from Reno, Nevada is an adopted son of a wealthy couple and has been sentenced to prison for a horrible crime against animals. The 25-year old who majored in psychology has been convicted of despicable acts of torture, murder, and dismemberment of seven dogs.

Jason was arrested in 2014 when police found a dog that was brutally attacked in his motel room in Reno.

Further investigation has shown that the dog was completely dismembered. It didn’t stop there, as investigators also found four decapitated dog heads in the built-in fridge.

The man responded to local Craigslist ads to find his victims. He looked for ads of people who were giving their dogs and pups away free of charge or for a small price and promised them a safe and loving forever home.

According to AP, a couple of owners remembered Jason as a “normal clean-cut kid.” Some of the owners also testified in court and burst out into tears when disgusting footage was played of the man torturing and even skinning a couple of dogs. The man could be heard saying on the footage that he would bring the dogs to his “house of pain” and stated that he wanted to make a fur coat out of them.

When the man was sentenced, the judge, prosecutor, and the defense lawyer agreed unanimously that this was one of the most horrific crimes they’ve ever seen in their career.

“Those images I watched, I will never forget,” Judge Elliott Sattler said right before he issued the maximum penalty and stated his actions were barbaric.

“The cruelty, the sadism you exhibited is simply shocking,” he said. “The part that frightened me most about the videos is that you produced them in the first place. That tells me you wanted to go back and watch them again — a trophy if you will of your behavior. You watched with friends and laughed.”

Jason explained that he had no recollection of the events and was under the influence of multiple drugs. He had been using heroin, methamphetamines, and cocaine for a couple of weeks and claimed to never have hurt animals before.

Derek Dreiling, the Assistant District Attorney has no words to describe what happened.

“It is that horrific,” he said. “It’s the repetition, the violence, the sadism that makes this crime worthy of the worst. Over 40 years, I’ve seen people killed in every way, shape or form. But this case is a first for me in a lot of ways.”

The man was sentenced up to 28 years in prison, and will only be eligible for parole after 11 years of serving time.
