We’d do everything and anything to find our lost pet.
It is heartbreaking and devastating when you find your pet missing. After all, no matter how smart they are, they would still need the help of humans. You’ll never know what would happen to them if they were out there alone and probably very scared.
Losing a pet is a horror, no matter how responsible you are. There would always be instances when you can’t always keep an eye on them. And you would what it takes to find them and have them back.
Keith Soffes was heartbroken and speechless when he couldn’t find his dog, Monster.
He usually brings her on his boat trips, and he was very used to Monster standing by the side of the boat and barking at the birds like she always does. He was even used to her going for a little swim and heading back to the boat while they were busy fishing.
By the time Keith and his men were about to pull up the net, he noticed he couldn’t find Monster. He also said that Monster would usually go to the net and bite it at times. He knew something was wrong.
He searched nearby and drove the boat within the perimeter but couldn’t find her.
According to his GPS, Monster was about five to six miles away from the dock. He knew they had to go back, but he couldn’t find it in him to simply give up on finding his beloved dog, who had not been separated from him since.
Keith posted their photo on his Facebook account, asking people and hoping anybody in his social media connections found Monster nearby.
Thankfully, someone replied to his post five days after.
Ashley Totten commented that she thought she found Monster and that only someone close by could come over and check. He couldn’t believe what she said because 5-6 miles was too far for her to swim. Still, he went out and tried to search for his dog.
He kept looking in the area where Ashley said she found a dog who looked like Monster. Keith was desperate, so he added a cash reward to those who could give her back. Finally, a man said he thinks he found Monster.
Keith immediately went to one of the trailers in the park, and there he saw Monster.
He hugged his dog and cried because he thought he had already lost her. Monster was also thrilled to see her hooman after a long time of being away from him.
One thing’s for sure, Keith was definitely amazed how Monster managed to swim back to shore from five miles back. He said he would often take her swimming, and he bet that was what saved her life.
If there was one lesson Keith learned, it was to make sure Monster should wear a lifevest. Check out a video about Monster below!
