If you’re a dog owner, you know just how much joy it brings to your life. The great thing about pups is they’re loving, faithful, funny, and always trying to please their humans. That was the case for one dog. All he wanted to do was bring his owner something special but let’s just say that he faced a big challenge.
A hysterical experience
In a video posted on social media, you get to see what happened. It’s downright hysterical. At the same time, you kind of feel bad for the dog.
Come here, boy
At the start of the video, you see a large dog at the top of a steep street. Then, you hear his owner call him. He’s trying to make his way down to her but there’s a huge problem.
Icy conditions
Not only does it look stormy outside but it also appears to have snowed recently. Even worse, the street is covered with ice. And you know what that means. Even with nails, this dog couldn’t gain any traction.
Sliding along
Instead of running to his owner, he’s slipping and sliding all the way down the street. At this point, all you can do is laugh. And hope the pup doesn’t take a bad spill.
Something odd
But as the dog gets closer, his owner notices something unusual. She can’t tell what it is because he’s still too far away. It seems as though he has an object in his mouth. And it’s quite big.
Not letting go
Despite the treacherous conditions, this pup refuses to drop whatever it is in his mouth. He’s determined to bring it with him. His owner still can’t tell what the thing is but she’ll soon find out.
Is he going to make it?
As he gets closer, you can see that’s he’s still struggling to get a grip. In fact, you can hear his nails on the pavement as he tries desperately to hold on. But then finally, he approaches his owner and for the first time, she can see what the object is.
Tree branch
That’s right, he got down the hill with a small tree branch in his mouth. You see, dogs are a lot like cats. They love to bring their humans special gifts. And in this pup’s eyes, the branch qualified as one.
That face
At this point, you can tell the pup is a gorgeous Golden Retriever. And with a huge smile on his face, there’s no question he’s quite proud of himself. As for his owner, well, she was quite amused. Realizing what her dog brought back, the lady laughs.
The long journey
It’s pretty impressive to see this dog fight his way down an icy street just to bring his owner a branch. Well, that’s what we’d all like to think. In truth, he probably found something to bring home as a new chew toy. We’ll never know for sure.
Love the determination
By nature, the Golden Retriever breed is super loyal. And this type of dog has a lot of determination. After all, they’re natural retrievers. So, finding and bringing a tree branch to his owner makes perfect sense.
