British rock band Queen released “We are the champions” with their 1977 album News of the World. 43 years later, people from all corners of the planet are still singing their hearts out to one of rock music’s most recognizable anthems. Including this Shiloh Shepherd.
That means that Lola has wonderful taste in music. And who better to thank for the awesome influence but her mom, Annie!
Road trips are good for the soul.
Going for long drives does soothe the spirit and when the road is wide open, the best companion is music. These are moments where people (and pets) show who they truly are. It’s a hit or miss kind of thing.
Lola dozed off in the backseat which means that it must be one heck of a trip because Annie, great driver that she is, has popped a Queen track on the car stereo and is already singing her heart out. Long live Freddie!
If you listen closely, you can hear the engine.
Which means they’re going fast. Which also means Annie got bored, must have been listening to some good old rock and roll, hence her foot pressing harder on the accelerator. And in spite of it all, Lola is still in dreamland.
But not for long.
Annie is doing a wonderful job of expressing all her emotions as she belts out the iconic lyrics. Once she gets to the part of, I’ve had my share of sand kicked in my face, Lola has already raised her sleepy head. It must be the chorus!
Lola warms up slowly with a bit of backing vocals.
“And we mean to go on, and on, and on, and on…”
Once the chorus comes in, Lola is up, dazzling viewers with her vocal prowess, matching Queen’s melodious rock anthem note for note. It’s also pretty cute that she matches the car’s leather… And that’s rock and roll!
Lola raises her head and shouts, “We are the champions. We are the champions!“, with Annie going a la carpool karaoke now. Let the singing Shiloh have her moment. It’s been so many miles.
You’d swear those howls are coming from Brian May’s guitar.
The song was written by the late great Freddie Mercury himself, with the hit getting inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2009. It has become an anthem for victories in sporting events, as well as 2005’s most popular song by votes.
The flamboyant Freddie Mercury used his interest in theater with his four-octave vocal range to write, produce, and sing songs that are arguably some of music’s greatest gems. Who doesn’t know Queen?
If a dog knows the band and you don’t, where on earth have you been?!
Lola and Annie now have fame and fortune and everything that goes with it thanks to this little road trip of theirs. They have over 7.5 million views with lots of adoring admirers in the comments section.
“I love the dog and I think the woman is beautiful — inside and out. I can see how much she loves Lola. This is so precious.”
That one comment sums it up. You can see how close Annie and Lola are as they harmonize and blend their voices together during certain parts of the song. This is one pleasure cruise for these two girls. And somewhere out there is a smiling Freddie.
