Boxers are great pets. They’re loyal, loving, and protective. While they have lots of energy and they’re always ready to play, there’s also a fairly calm side to them. Along with that — this breed has a reputation for being quirky. Take this little guy an example.

When you get a Boxer puppy, it usually takes a little bit of time before they feel comfortable in their new environment. Then before you know it, they have free access to everything, including the couch and bed. But for one pup, he took charge of his owner’s home almost immediately. At just a couple of months old, he’s already hogging the sofa.

Watching the movie…carefully

In a video that’s now been viewed more than 600,000 times, you see a Boxer pup closely watching a movie. Whatever’s happening on the screen sure has his attention. Maybe someone’s simply taking a walk or perhaps it’s a scene of a family having dinner. We don’t know, but no matter what it is, the music suggests it’s a quiet scene…for now.

This puppy is becoming more intrigued

As the movie continues to play, you see this furry pup in full alert mode. With his eyes glued to the television, he cocks his head first to one side and then the other. He’s so focused on the movie, nothing else matters.

Getting to the scary part

But all of a sudden, there’s a low growling sound coming from the TV…perhaps from an animal or a monster. That’s when the Boxer lunges forward just a bit in response to the noise. But then, he decides he’s had enough. Whatever was going on in that movie was too much for this puppy to handle. While we don’t understand why these dogs do what they do, at least we get a good laugh

Reacting to the terrifying movie

The Boxer curls up on the couch while looking away from the screen. After burying his face in the cushions, he lets out a low whine. Yep, this adorable puppy has had enough of the scary movie, choosing instead to sleep. Some viewers said they’d probably react the same way. After all, why get scared by a movie when you can take a nap?

Enjoying the Boxer’s reaction

Do you remember when we said that Boxers are quirky? They are and it’s all a part of their natural playfulness and curiosity. But sometimes, they can be just a little bit too curious. That’s what happened with this puppy. He got a little more than he bargained for when he decided to watch a horror film.

A loyal companion through it all

Even though this Boxer can’t do terrifying movies, he’s still a loyal companion. This breed as a whole, hates being alone. So, maybe the next time his owner wants to watch a movie, he’ll put something a little more lighthearted on so his loyal friend will join him.

Taking care of his owner

Boxers are also protective. Even after this pooch had such a terrifying experience, he’ll still feel the need to keep his owner safe from any perceived threat. Who knows, maybe one day, he’ll muster up enough courage to do “scary movie night” with his owner. But with a sharp memory, we’re not counting on it.

Considering this puppy was so scared after seeing whatever movie his owner watched, we think he should go for a nice, long walk in the park. Either that or his owner should select a more age-appropriate movie — something like The Secret Life of Pets, A Dog’s Life, or what about Lady and the Tramp?
