After months of being confined to home except for essentials, most of us can’t help but think of all the ways we’re going to celebrate once the novel coronavirus pandemic is under control.

Of course, our new normal might mean that big bear hugs and even close conversations won’t be in the cards for quite some time.

Perhaps that’s why it’s so sweet to see two furry BFFs reunited for the first time since lockdown. They get to celebrate in the way we might not be able to for quite some time.

Stefani Maryn’s TikTok video of her black lab mix Samantha running into her pal while out on a walk in Hamilton, Ontario was posted just a little over a week ago but already has nearly 1 million likes and 4.2 million views!

That’s because it’s so just darn wholesome.

For those of you too tired to incorporate one more social media platform into your routine, TikTok is a place to upload short-form videos. For the most part, people post dance, lip-sync, comedy, pet, or talent clips set to music.

And for Maryn’s video, the music is really what makes the scene.

The song, “Surrender,” by Natalie Taylor is about wanting a lover to return.

As the ballad plays, we see Maryn walking her pup down the sidewalk — then we see another dog in the distance coming towards the pair.

It turns out that Samantha is about to have a quick and unexpected reunion with her favorite playmate, Baldur.

And just before they get to the corner, the dog sees what’s ahead of her and completely loses the plot. She’s so darn excited that Maryn can barely keep hold of her leash.

The lab is literally bouncing with joy at the mere sight of a friendly face.

Samantha turns around to her owner and lets out an excited bark as if to say “OMG, do you see who it is?!”

And we can just imagine how she feels!

The dog can’t wait to get to the other side of the street and she nearly bounds into the intersection she’s so happy.

Luckily, she’s under Maryn’s control and they cross when it’s safe, the pup’s tail wagging frantically the whole time.

The moment the two dogs come face to face is everything we’d hoped for.

While the other pup is a little more reserved, both are happy to rub faces and jump on one another.

They’re thrilled to be reunited after over a month of no playdates.

Speaking to DailyMail.com, both dog owners revealed they were shocked that the video became so popular. But they acknowledge that the sweet bond between their dogs is truly something special.

‘Three years ago when Samantha and I moved to Hamilton, Baldur was her first friend, who quickly became her soulmate,” Maryn said.

Baldur is also a rescue dog and “Samantha’s favorite pastime is leaning in and licking Baldur’s face during their walks together.”

After seeing this, we sure hope this sweet pair can get back to their joint walks as soon as possible.

“The overwhelming reception of this video has been beautiful. While neither of us expected such a large response, we are thrilled that their reunion and friendship has brought joy and been relatable during this difficult time,” Maryn said.

Be sure to scroll down to see the sweet clip — and make sure you turn the volume on because the song really makes the scene.
