Dogs are such a blessing in our lives, and we often say, “we don’t deserve dogs.”

They have this affection for us that drives away our bad moods. We don’t know how they do it, but they can sense our emotions and instantly give us some comforting snuggles.

They also do more heroic, life-saving acts for us.

Some people may see dogs as just animals, but their intelligence is beyond compare. They would know when our lives may be in grave danger, and they act on it faster than we ever could.

This is what little Henry did for his human baby sister.

Henry is Kelly and Jeff Dowling’s eight-year-old Boston Terrier. They love and adore this cutie pie so much, but fur-mom Kelly said he had developed this habit of banging his head to open her daughter’s door. She found this rather annoying since it woke her baby up.

Kelly thought it was one of those nights again when Henry started doing that.

She shared on a tweet how she had enough of Henry’s antics and thought he was “acting up again.” The moment she turned her back, Henry went back and barged in again. This annoyed Kelly more than any other night he did this because her daughter was sick, and she didn’t want to disturb her rest.

She went to Henry and told him to stop it.

The poor dog felt ashamed for what he did (look at those eyes!). She even recorded a video about this moment and thought he just wanted to sniff her baby girl.

Then, Henry went back to ramming the door open.

Annoyed, Kelly instantly ran to her daughter’s room, but she was not expecting the horror that she would discover.

She found her baby girl not breathing anymore.

The couple knew their daughter had a cold, but Henry sensed something worse had happened. That’s when Kelly found out that her daughter’s airways weren’t clearing anymore, and she started to turn blue and went rigid.

They immediately rushed their daughter to the hospital.

The doctors attended to their emergency and cleared out the baby’s airways. They were later sent home that same night with their baby safe and sound. All that credit goes to Henry, for the couple wouldn’t be alarmed about it without him.

Kelly shared this story on Twitter and instantly blew up!

People shared similar stories about how their pets – dogs and cats alike – saved their loved ones’ lives. This also raised awareness of how blessed we are with our pets with these instincts they have.

As for Henry, his paw-rents promised him some rewards for being a hero.

“(We’re) definitely spoiling (him) a little bit more. He went and went to sleep in bed with me last night, and he’s got a steak in the future,” Jeff said in an interview with Good Morning America.

He also added that they would probably give Henry two rounds of Christmas gifts.

That’s going to be one happy doggo right there! And so he should because he truly deserved all the spoiling his family could give.
