Dogs are loyal animals, both to the humans who give them homes and to each other. Some dogs form incredible bonds with their fellow canines. Sometimes, these bonds can even between dogs who are related.
That’s just the case with this brother and sister pair that went to incredible lengths to help each other.
In the video, the female dog, Lucy, is stuck to the railroad – a live railroad with trains still running over it. She was stuck for two whole days, but her brother, Panda, refused to leave her side.
In one startling clip, you can see a train actually run over the dogs, but the brother protectively lies with his sister and they survive.
Panda kept her warm during the two days and brought her food, and his efforts kept them alive until the pair could be rescued.
This harrowing event happened in Ukraine, and it was captured by a man named Denis Malafeyev, who helped assist a local shelter in saving the dogs. Denis posted photos and videos of the rescue to his Facebook page.
For those who may be wondering why Denis was not helping the dogs, it was due to Panda’s protective nature.
He would react aggressively to anyone who tried to approach them and would start biting in order to keep his sister safe. It took a lot of patient waiting before the dogs were in a state to let people come close to them and help them.
Denis wanted to show how the dogs were protective of one another, while also keeping an eye on them to try and save them.
Thankfully, the dogs were able to be rescued in the end.
The rescuers also learned that the pups had gotten lost and their owner was looking for them. After seeing a video of the pair on Facebook, the dogs’ owner came forward with their paperwork and was reunited with his beloved dogs.
Lucy and Panda’s owner is so happy to have them home again. It’s truly amazing and inspiring the love and care the two siblings have for one another.
Lucy and Panda are an incredibly loyal pair of siblings who refused to leave each other behind. We’re so glad they’ve recovered from their ordeal and are back home where they belong.
