When people who have pets bring babies home, they are often worried about how the pets will react.
Most dogs want to be treated like children, so when another child comes along, they can get jealous. Sometimes they act up and destroy the home, sometimes they get shy and won’t come out to play, and sometimes they even act aggressively toward the baby.
A lot of dogs learn to love their human sibling.
They even feel a desire to protect them from harm or things they consider harmful. The dogs in this video love their new babies, and they won’t let anyone hurt them. If you think a dog can’t love a person, these dogs will convince you otherwise.
Some of these dogs think they are protecting the babies by lying on them so nobody can pick them up, others are keeping a close eye on them while they bathe or sleep, and others are chasing away any other human who might want to get close to the baby. If these dogs don’t know or already trust you, you aren’t getting close to these babies.
What makes these dogs care so much about these babies?
It’s normal for them to be protective of their owners, they have spent a lot of years with them. But these babies are new, and they haven’t had much time to form a close bond. Do these dogs understand that these babies are part of their human owners and have a natural instinct to protect them?
Of course, not all dogs are this tolerant of babies.
There are dozens of news stories about how adults have let their babies or young children unattended with dogs, and those dogs have mauled them. It takes a special kind of dog to love a baby like these dogs do.
Some breeds are better with young children than others. Most people claim that it is not the breed of dog that matters, but how that dog is raised. This is true in most cases. Dogs aren’t usually aggressive unless they have a reason to be.
Still, certain dogs are bred to do certain things, and sometimes kids just get in the way. For example, some herding dogs tend to treat children the same way they would sheep or cattle. They push them and even pull on them to get them to go or stay where they want them. They aren’t trying to hurt the child, but they could do so accidentally.
Certain breeds of dogs are known to have better temperaments than others.
Surprisingly, it is usually the bigger dogs that do better with smaller children. Maybe it is because they aren’t threatened by them, or maybe they are just gentler breeds.
This video just goes to show you that dogs are gentle giants who are capable of loving not only older humans but also young ones. The parents of these kids know that they will always be able to count on their pets to protect them.
