Maybe dogs do go to heaven after all. At least the ones who pray. This Shiba Inu is one good boy! He’s got a spiritual side to him and he’s not afraid to show it. Well at least when it comes to his meals.
He takes his place by the table, uses his paws to support his frame as he humbly bows his head in prayer. He doesn’t budge at all up until the prayer is finished. That’s the only time he makes a move for his food.
All the more reason to enjoy your meal, buddy!
The Shiba Inu were bred to flush birds and small game, even occasionally used to hunt wild boar. They are one of Japan’s six breeds. There’s the Akita, Kishu, Hokkaido, Kai, Shikoku (medium), and Shiba (small).
Known more to be companion dogs nowadays, Shiba’s have a spirited personality and together with their upright ears and agility most dogs don’t possess, make for very good pets as they are both active and attentive.
Small but built tough with strong muscles, males weigh in at around 23 pounds while females around the 17 pound mark. They have a longer life expectancy than most breeds at 13 to 16 years so good news for dog lovers.
The Shiba Inu boasts of a unique appearance, being almost fox-like with cool markings ranging from red, red sesame, or black and tan. Couple those with a very alert disposition, a bold and confident personality and you have a very handsome dog. Plus points if they pray.
For Christians out there, especially those familiar with bible stories, there are mentions of dogs in scripture.
Jesus mentioned that Lazarus the poor man had his sores licked by street dogs which is sort of an emphasis on how pitiful the man’s situation was.
The Roman Catholic Church recognizes Saint Roch, who lived in 14th century France, as the patron saint of dogs. The story goes that the saint caught the plague of that time doing charitable work and as he went to the forest to die, a dog befriended him, licked is sores and brought him food, which helped him recover.
Was it an ancestor of this Shiba Inu?
Highly possible since this good boy knows he has a direct line to heaven.
Makes one wonder if he picked this up out of habit or his owner spent many hours and days teaching him the habit. Either way, this Shiba is an excellent example for kids growing up. Blessings be on those paws!
The video is fairly new but already, this spiritual dog has a few admirers,
“OMG melted HEART from such adorable sweetest Angel pup!! God bless you and your family!!Thanks for sharing.”
Perhaps this boy has a calling? He could be a pastor or a preacher to his four legged friends and help spread the gospel of good boys, I mean good news. Anyone want to sponsor and fund a doggy church? They would be howling and barking praises for you.
Enjoy that wonderful meal, Mister Shiba Inu! May you be blessed with more.
