Dogs love a good belly rub and adore a decent scratch behind the ear. Nothing’s better than a show of affection from their hooman.
They interact with each other via butt sniffing and play wrestling. But one dog from Canada has a unique way of showing other canines how much she cares and it’s gone viral.

Bred primarily for hunting, German shorthaired pointers are friendly and loyal dogs. These gundogs crave attention and are eager to please their humans.
With an abundance of energy, German shorthaired pointers love going for hikes and other forms of exercise. Always ready to head out the door on an adventure, this breed even has webbed feet perfect for swimming.

Ruby the shorthaired pointer not only loves being active, but she adores other dogs. She’s exceptionally friendly toward everyone, so much so that a touching video showing Ruby’s kindheartedness is circulating online and winning over people everywhere.
Even cat lovers can’t pass up this beautiful video that shows Ruby’s friendliness!

When Ruby’s at doggie daycare called The Den Doggy Daycare in Burlington, Ontario, she can’t help but show everyone with four legs how much she appreciates them. She actually pets the other dogs like a human!
Her buddy Lexy’s human Alanah Lorraine of Ontario, Canada, captured rover Ruby working the crowd at daycare in a video she shared on TikTok. She captioned the video “Ruby always trying to make friends!”

The account We Rate Dogs reposted Alanah’s video on Twitter where it quickly went viral. In the video, we can see Ruby patting a golden retriever with her paw.
The other dog loves it so much that it rolls over and awaits a belly rub! Except Ruby hasn’t quite mastered that yet.

Another clip reveals Ruby showing friendliness toward another pooch. It’s a German shorthaired pointer that looks just like her — because it’s her brother Miles!
The look on her face is absolutely precious when he just sits there and allows her to pet him! No snipping or snapping between these too siblings even when Ruby invades his personal space.

Some brothers think sisters are pesky, but Miles apparently loves his sister enough to allow her to pet him no matter how unimpressed he looks.
“She usually starts with her brother Miles and as the other dogs in daycare start to chill out, she will get to work on them as well. Miles doesn’t seem interested in giving pets, just receiving. We think it started with trying to get Miles’ attention or to play with him and just evolved from there, most of her friends at daycare don’t mind and see it as her playing with them.”

The two of them find another friend to hang with and while sitting beside the black furry dog, Ruby repeatedly pats him. As that same dog walks by, Ruby places her paw on its back in a gentle gesture of affection.
Ruby’s love and adoration for others has resonated with so many people. Her clips have been viewed more than 7 million times!

Alanah began filming Ruby’s paws of affection while in the act and recently decided to compile the clips together. She posted the video on TikTok, where it wracked up thousands of likes.

“I thought it would be adorable but I never imagined it would go viral.”

Newfound fans of Ruby’s praise the pup’s sweetness and kindhearted treatment of others. Others teasingly commented how Ruby really hasn’t done a very good job of social distancing though.
Twitter user Kristina Padilla noted how the other dogs are probably thinking “‘ur not hooman, but I’ll allow it.” Kenny Stewart shared a video of his dog Taco who loves to pet their cat they adopted from Kenny’s brother. Taco and Ruby seem to have a lot in common!

One person coined her the “dog pope” and joked that Ruby was walking around blessing everyone. Someone asked if she could be Ruby’s friend because “I want her to pat me all the time.”

“My heart just grew 10 times larger watching Ruby making friends. What an amazing dog Ruby is.”

Pawing at other dogs usually is a way of showing submission or kickstarting a little ornery playtime between puppers, but Ruby seems to be interested only in giving the other doggos a little attention with some love pats on their heads or backs.
Ruby has some spot on social skills. What a sweetie! Watch her in the video below — she’s simply awesome!
