Millions of people around the world are stuck in their homes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While some are trying to work, others are frantically searching for things to keep them entertained. Some individuals have started getting more adventurous in the kitchen and even sharing recipes online. For others, they’ve discovered new passions like reading and writing.
But then there’s an entirely different group of people who are now involved with a trend. This phenomenon consists of looking at their dog’s feet to see if the pads look like a Koala bear. Okay, so that might seem a little farfetched but it’s led to websites with tons of photos of puppy paws.
So, whether you’re looking for some way to spend your time or you’re just curious, why not check out your dog’s (or cat’s) paws to see if you have a Koala living in your house. Here are 35 people who did just that.
1. Can you see it?

At first, this looks like nothing more than pads on a dog’s foot. But if you focus solely on the dark parts, you can envision a tiny Koala. Now, do you see it?
In this photo, the top pads look just like the ears of a Koala bear. We suppose you could count the toenails as little feet or perhaps this “bear” is trying to use the bathroom. Let’s go with the first option.
3. You’ll need to stretch your mind
This person wanted to have a dog with a Koala on its feet so bad but we’re just not seeing it. If it weren’t for the drawing, we’d think this was more of a…well, we don’t know.
It was only after seeing some of the photos people posted online that this individual decided to look at her pup’s feet. Lo and behold, her dog named Dolce has that resemble a Koala. She must be so proud.
5. It’s kind of cheating…
…or is it? Maybe you should just consider this person highly creative. Regardless, by imposing the face of a real Koala on the dog’s feet, you can see what everyone’s talking about.
6. It’s a hairy little fellow
This Koala looks as though it’s wearing some kind of toupee. It also appears to have really hairy legs. But it’s still cute.
We don’t know if it’s the dark pads against the dark fur that makes distinguishing a Koala difficult or not. But to this owner, her dog’s paws have a perfect resemblance. That’s her story and she’s sticking to it.
In this photo, you can envision a sweet Koala all decked out in a beautiful fur coat. Wherever this dog lives, we know its paws and the accompanying bear will stay warm during the winter.
While this owner was thrilled to see the bottom of his dog’s feet looked a lot like a Koala, the pup wasn’t as excited. As a matter of fact, he slept throughout the entire investigation.
10. Hey, these people aren’t crazy
Feeling a little bit skeptical, this individual discovered that all the other posters were right. If you look closely, you can see they had a point.
11. It was by happenstance
We’re not sure this person even knew anything about the trend. It was only after conditioning the dog’s paws when he noticed a resemblance with a Koala. But of course, he wanted to jazz it up a bit so he added an adorable bow tie.
Okay, so this individual posted a photo of her cat’s foot but we’ll count it. The soft pink skin, white fur, and the added smile and eyes make this photo perhaps one of the cutest of all.
To this pet owner, her Cocker Spaniel’s paw looks amazingly like a Koala bear. We don’t know about you, but we’re thinking more on the line of an Ewok.
14. Found the perfect photo
Eager to get in on the fun, and fill some time out of an otherwise boring day, this person went through a ton of photos of her pup. Finally, they found one showing the paws. Sure enough, it looks like a miniature Koala.
Although a lot of the photos have a strong resemblance to this kind of bear, this one is particularly good. You can see the head, arms, and legs. The dog’s beautiful fur color makes it even more enjoyable to look at.
16. Hey, this is important
Perhaps with a slight tone of sarcasm, this poster said, “Thank you for bringing this very important topic to the forefront.” On the other hand, they might think dog paws that look like Koalas is a critical subject.
17. It’s a little sketchy
Here’s another pet owner who’s insistent their dog’s paw looks just like a Koala. Okay, there’s some resemblance but what’s up with that super long neck void of any hair?
18. You have to admit it’s funny
With those eyes and that smile, this photo will either make you smile or run away. After all, the eyes look a little creepy. We wouldn’t want to meet this Koala in a dark alley…just saying.
We’re not sure why this person felt they needed to draw a face on their pup’s paws to make the bear stand out. Even without the artistic touch, it’s easy to see a Koala.
That’s what this poster said about finding a Koala on her dog’s foot. Like some other people, she was somewhat skeptical but now, she’s a believer.
Considering spotting the bear on this pup’s paw is a little more difficult than others, the owner decided to add a couple of illustrations to help. It was probably a good idea they did.
We’re thinking more like a wet bear. Yes, this dog has extra fur on the bottom of its feet. But rather than wearing a luxurious fur coat, it appears this bear got stuck outside in the rain. Either that or it’s having a really bad hair day.
23. What an adorable bear…we mean dog paw
What’s not to love more than those tiny arms and legs. Perhaps that furry belly?
This photo is as perfect as you’ll find. What makes it so unique is the ears, which look very realistic. This Koala didn’t need a single touch up.
If you turn your head and look closely, you can kind of make out a bear. We’re thinking this photo was just taken from the wrong angle. After all, aren’t all Koalas photogenic?
26. You just want to cuddle
With that big fluff of fur, you want to cuddle that bear. Of course, since this is really a dog’s paw, you might look a little silly doing that.
27. He’s the coolest bear in town
With those beady eyes, black nose, and a stylish mohawk, this is one cool bear. I wonder if it tickled the dog while its owner was drawing on its paw? I guess we’ll never know.
28. Give this cat a break
Here’s another cat owner wanting to get in on the action. And yep, this one also has pads that look very much like a Koala. But this one is interesting because those are natural spots, not drawn-on eyes.
And it seems as though the owner thought so too by adding the word “supreme” on his photo. But with natural dark spots that make up the eyes and nose of the bear, we have to agree. This is one supreme dog paw.
Not only is the coloring of this pup’s paw unique but with the added smile, it’s super adorable.
31. Yet another manipulated face
Although the face is cute, we’re not sure this pup’s paw needed it. With the shape of the pads, it’s easy to identify a Koala bear.
32. It’s a pack of Koalas
This poster checked several of their dog’s feet, finding they all looked like Koalas. This person was so excited with their find, they gave their pups treats. That was nice.
33. Perfection at its finest
While it looks like this bear, we mean paw, has seen better days, it’s still easy to identify a Koala. All the proportions are perfect although we can’t say we’ve ever seen one with black fur
Due to the short, light-colored hair and dark pads on this pup’s foot, it looks strikingly similar to a Koala. That’s about as close as you can get.
Here’s another pet owner who heard rumors about dogs’ paws looking like Koalas. Eager to find out, they quickly grabbed a photo and what do you know, it’s true.
