It’s fair to say that dogs love to be a part of every moment of our lives – whether that’s accompanying us on the mundane tasks like the grocery shop or visiting the bathroom, to the more exciting things like day trips and those major milestones in life. Whatever you’re doing, a dog will be totally thrilled to join in – even when the thing you’re doing doesn’t actually need your dog’s input.
So when a couple from San Francisco decided to get married during lockdown, their 13-year-old Miniature Pinscher named Scooter didn’t hesitate to insert himself into the situation in the most hilarious way.
The couple posted their wedding ring photos online for all of their family and friends to see, but there was a cheeky little addition in the photo, in the form of Scooter’s paw! This makes us love the photo even more.
Shon Washington and his husband John first got engaged a few years ago, after being together for over eleven years.
Their original marriage plans were thwarted by the coronavirus pandemic, but that wasn’t about to stop them! The pair instead decided to hold their wedding ceremony online, and their friends and family watched the whole thing as it happened, via Facetime.
After the wedding, Shon and John wanted to take some photos of their wedding bands to commemorate their big day, but when they put their hands together, Scooter decided that he wanted to be a part of the photo – and in the most adorable way possible!
The hilarious dog stuck his paw on top of the couple’s hand and posed perfectly for the picture as if he wanted to let people know that he’s a big part of the family.
Apparently, this behavior isn’t out of the norm for Scooter, who loves to be the center of attention.
The cheeky little pup put his paw into the photo all by himself and wouldn’t remove it until a picture was taken!
“To be honest, I wasn’t even paying attention to Scooter when I did it,” Shon said. “I was trying to switch the camera to another setting. John kept saying, ‘Look what he’s doing.’ And when I finally did, it was the perfect photo.”
It really was! Shon posted his picture onto Twitter with the caption:
“My husband and I tried to take pics of our rings and our dog didn’t want to feel left out????”
Unsurprisingly, it soon became viral with over 301k likes and 36k retweets. The hilarious picture also sparked other people to share their own dog/wedding pics, and some of them are absolutely hilarious!
We love how the dog in this pic steals more of the attention than the actual rings! At the same time as being hilarious, this picture truly warms our hearts as it serves as a reminder that dogs really will be by our side through all the highs and the lows. They really are the most loyal companions!

As if things couldn’t get any better, one dog even managed to sneak his way into a maternity photoshoot. The little paw resting on the mom-to-be’s belly is the best thing that we’ve seen all day!
