Similar to their human pals, dogs often shake and move during their REM cycles.

As most dog owners can attest, four-legged pups can get quite shaky in their sleep, especially during their younger years. Sometimes, the shakes may appear light and happy, while other times the shakes may come across as downright frightening.

Since we can never truly be sure if our pups are having a peaceful slumber or a scary nightmare, sometimes we choose to err on the side of caution by waking them up.

Although we don’t want anyone to suffer, we really don’t want our fur babies to suffer while they could be resting. They’re just too darned pure to deserve any bad dreams. Since nightmares can be quite scary for humans, we don’t want our pups to experience the same sort of fear.

Instead of cats and monsters, pups deserve endless belly rubs and extra treats while in dreamland.

We can’t help but wonder what doggos have nightmares about. Is it the angsty cat next door that frightens them, or do they, too, worry that the Boogeyman may get them? Hopefully, it’s nothing too scary. Our faithful companions deserve all the best while snoozing.

When nine-year-old Marley gets a bit too shaky during her snooze, her owner decides that waking her up is the best course of action.

The video begins as the owner zooms in on Marley’s face and paws. This dog is out-cold. Her shaking doesn’t seem too aggressive, though. With her comfy couch and fluffy pillow, this good girl is having quite the snooze.

We can only hope that her dreams are as pleasant as her choice of bed is. Marley is one sleeping beauty!

The owner can’t take any more of this. He doesn’t want his furry baby to continue suffering. Trying to calm his four-legged child, the owner decides that it’s time to wake Marley up. He gently gives her a pat on the head.

Marley wakes up almost immediately, and her reaction is priceless.

While most dogs may jump or bark when woken up in the middle of a dream, Marley has other plans for her return to reality, and it’s just about the happiest thing caught on camera.

After being woken up, Marley breaks out her biggest grin!

That is truly the mark of a good girl. Only the kindest of pups would be able to wake up from a nightmare with a big ole smile on their face. Maybe, she was just happy to realize that it was only just a bad dream. She sure is happy to have escaped from that snooze!
