Dogs have a far superior sense of smell compared to humans.

While the exact number is unknown, a dog’s sense of smell is around 10,000 to 100,000 better than ours. Dogs have up to 300 million olfactory receptors in their noses, while humans have about 6 million.

Research also shows that dogs can even smell a person’s feelings and moods. A dog’s sense of smell can detect anxiety, fear, and sadness.

This is the reason why many pet owners say that their dogs can usually tell what kind of mood they are in, whether happy, sad, or stressed.

In this video, Daisy the Husky uses her excellent sense of smell to discover her surprise.

The video starts with Daisy entering a home and going directly to a big figure on the floor that looks covered in a large checkered blanket.

Daisy starts sniffing the figure, but can’t determine what, or who, it is.

While she’s sniffing, her tail begins to wag excitedly. It looks like Daisy is trying to figure out what exactly is on the floor, but she has an idea of what it is.

She continues to smell and tries to remove the blanket with her snout. She continues to circle the figure on the floor.

You can see that she is extremely excited and trying to go under the blanket to find out who it is.

Finally, the figure starts to move, and you can see that it’s a person under her blanket.

Daisy finally confirms who is under the blanket when the figure emerges and shows her face.

She jumps up to greet the person and hops on the couch excitedly. Dog behaviorist Nanci Creedon posted the video and explained in the caption:

“Daisy had always had a great relationship with my friend. She (friend) moved to the UK so Daisy hadn’t seen her for a few months, so when she came back we wanted to surprise her.”

Creedon further wrote that Daisy definitely knew something was up, but the husky wasn’t sure until she saw her face. Then she knew her friend was back!

Daisy continues to jump on the couch and bark excitedly when the friend asks for a hug.

It looks like Daisy was so excited to see her friend that she almost didn’t know what to do with herself.
