Our dogs do the most unexpected things when we leave them at home. Some days we might come back home to a mess or perhaps we just see our dogs sleeping like a log. However, for this particular pooch, she actually prepared a big surprise for her fur-parents.
The parents had to leave one Frenchie alone at home that day.
Griffin and Haru are two adorable French bulldogs living together with their family. They both have different personalities, but their dynamic is what makes them lovable. One day, the parents had to take Griffin to get his eye checked at the vet, so they had no choice but to leave Haru alone at home.
The owners had no idea what Haru was like when left alone at home, so they decided to set up a camera in the house just to see what happens.
The door was shut, leaving poor Haru alone.
Haru could do nothing but stare at the door while howling loudly, hoping that it will make them come back. The lonely pooch continued standing at the door, but eventually, she just gave up and went around looking for something to do before her parents came back home.
Haru went straight to take a little sip of water but then she stopped to give off another sad howl again. It is quite heartbreaking to hear her cries especially when you see her run towards the window, waiting for them to come back.
Haru continued waiting for them by the window and then takes occasional naps before getting up to watch the window again. At some point, she just gave up and went to snooze on the couch.
Forty minutes later, they finally came back home.
As Haru heard a little noise behind the door, her ears immediately perked up excitedly. Hoping it was them, she went to take a peek at the door. Lights are turned on from outside and Haru sees Griffin just behind the door. Her mom quickly opened it, letting themselves enter the room. Haru was just so ecstatic to see both backs at home.
Haru greeted her brother first and went sniffing him all around, wondering where he had been. The curiosity got her that it somehow took her mind off her mom who was waiting for her hug. After a good sniffing, Haru then jumped to her mom’s lap, enjoying some quick cuddles and words of praise for being a good girl for 40 minutes.
Minutes feel like forever.
Our dogs just could not stand us being away for too long and is sad thinking about it. Sometimes, they try to thwart their boredom by making a mess of things, but you cannot deny that they do it because they are bored and lonely.
Just like little Haru, she did nothing but cried and waited for them to come back even though Griffin and her mom went away for less than an hour. We had to remember that for dogs, minutes would feel like forever if their loved ones are away.
