Dogs are wonderful creatures which is why they are perfect as home companions.

They are adorable, lovable, caring, protective, and arguably the most loyal animal on the planet.

However, there are also risks in taking dogs as pets, particularly for families with little children. The question then is whether or not the dog would behave well around kids.

Thankfully, all dogs are teachable and their attitude toward anyone including children, depends on their upbringing.

Just take this gentle giant as an example.

‘Life with Malamutes’

This YouTube channel features three Alaskan Malamutes named Phil, Niko, and Teddy, and a Maine coon cat named Milo.

Together with their human parents and two human siblings, they share lovely moments together, and even the most random things on Earth.

This video is just one of the many adorable moments in their household and it’s enough to melt everyone’s hearts.

In what looks like a just woke-up moment for the family, Teddy, his human mom, and their infant little Nathan are still getting their strength to get up.

The giant pooch was kissing his human sibling like he was trying to wake him up. It’s all well and normal until Teddy accidentally knocked baby Nathan over.

Although the baby wasn’t harmed and it was completely not the dog’s fault, poor Teddy felt guilty and he didn’t need to show it because he made it pretty obvious.

With his human-like gestures, the innocent furball showed the most apologetic face ever.

Teddy even tried to hide under the blanket.

He also tried looking away and everything just to show how sorry he truly was.

Mommy even assured him that it wasn’t his fault and it was a soft landing since they were on the bed.

After a little convincing and petting, Teddy finally realized it wasn’t really his fault. He meant no harm to his little brother and he wouldn’t do anything that would hurt Nathan.

It’s amazing how dogs react when they feel guilty, or do they really feel guilt?

According to Dr. Horowitz, it’s really hard to tell whether a dog feels guilty or not.

“My study was decidedly not about whether dogs ‘feel guilt’ or not. I would feel dreadful if people then thought the case was closed on dogs (not) feeling guilt, which is definitely not the case,” said Dr. Horowitz.

Training dog breed of their size isn’t easy.

According to the American Kennel Club, Alaskan Malamutes are “…immensely strong, heavy-duty worker of spitz type, the Alaskan Malamute is an affectionate, loyal, and playful but dignified dog recognizable by his well-furred plumed tail carried over the back, erect ears, and substantial bone.”

They are also known for their origins as sled dogs which means they are pack animals.

In a family with an Alaskan Malamute, it must be clear that the leader is you. If they don’t recognize you as the leader, they’d end up disrespecting you and even to the point of owning you.

Although they are firm, they are still a loving breed of dogs. Training a Mal must start in early puppyhood.

If everything goes well, an Alaskan Malamute will most likely behave well in front of everyone.

They are absolutely fun to be with, they are friendly, gentle giants, and great with kids just like Teddy to baby Nathan.
