Paul Dellegatto has been for many years the chief meteorologist for Fox 13. He’s leading a team of meteorologists and, together, they prepare and present to the public the weather forecast on a daily basis.
Just like most people, Dellegatto has had to work from home during the lockdown due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
So, when he was told he would be broadcasting the weather forecast from the comfort of his home, we guess he thought it would be an easy task.
However, what he hadn’t considered was the dog distraction he has at home, Brody. Dellegatto also used to have one more dog, Sparky, who passed away a year ago, but hasn’t been forgotten as daddy still has photos of him in his office.
So, a few weeks ago, as Dellegatto was live from his home office, the dog popped in and started doing his thing.
To begin with, he “whacked the computer with his head”, thus making it impossible for his dad to show the weather maps he had prepared.
“The maps aren’t going to move because he just whacked the computer with his head,” Dellegatto explained as he was trying to convince Brody to come closer to him and not mess with the remaining devices. “So, let me just verbalize the forecast, okay?”
The dog looked quite confused as his dad was telling him that what he did wasn’t very smart. Then the meteorologist tried to move on with the forecast as if nothing had happened, while at the same time petting his furry friend, who at some point started yawning.
“I didn’t mean to keep you up, buddy,” Dellegatto apologized to Brody, as he realized it was probably past bedtime for him and he was quite tired. “We’re going to eat after this” he promised, trying to remove the retriever from his lap so he could do his job more comfortably.
But, just when Dellegatto was about to end the broadcast and tell them he would be back later on, Brody decided to go wild again, this time trying to find someone behind the window.
“Oh boy,” Dellegatto said, surprised. “He’s jumping up trying to find Craig outside the window. He likes Craig. So, Craig is hidden on the outside, he’s on the porch and he’s got a kind of a blanket up so the reflection doesn’t get into my room here, and now we can’t see Craig so he’s going crazy trying to find Craig behind the blanket,” he explained.
However, this didn’t seem to bother the presenters in the studio, who said that what was happening was amazing and that they wouldn’t mind watching Brody instead of the weather forecast.
Eventually, Dellegatto had to complete the forecast for the time being, so he thanked everyone who patiently watched him and Brody and said he would be back later on with the complete forecast, followed by the necessary maps and everything.
