Stop, look, and listen.
It’s one of those nursery rhymes we’re taught when we’re little.
We’ve learned to cross the street by using our senses, or better yet, holding the hands of someone older to guide us.
But it’s not just for kids. We also see animals abiding by the rules of the street, and caught on video while doing it.
Animal videos are both cute and amazing.
But this dog’s walk is the cutest.
Time and again, videos of dogs and their owners emerge and go viral as they convey the zillion-and-one ways they prove they are man’s best friend.
From a simple gesture of affection to acts of bravery in saving their owners from harm, they run the gamut of proving their loyalty.
Nothing is more wholesome than a dog walking on the street with its favorite human.
What’s more fascinating is when the dog walks on just its hind legs while the owner crosses a busy street.
This was all caught on video.
In Kathmandu, Nepal, journalist Natalie Compton was on her way to hike up to the Everest Base Camp for a piece of news.
She was not expecting she’d get a bonus “scoop” in the form of a cute and heartwarming view of a man and his dog walking down the street.
They are just minding their own business, looking for a break in the busy traffic.
They have no idea Natalie’s filming them.
“I had a few days in Kathmandu before the hiking started,” Natalie told The Dodo, a media publication about animals. “I had found a local gym to keep up my training for the trek and was sitting outside of the gym building resting after my workout. The streets of Kathmandu are mesmerizing to watch,” she added.
As soon as she saw the dog standing beside its owner, she began taking a video.
It’s what “Dog Lovers” do.
“I’d seen a million cute dogs since I’d gotten to town, some wearing sweaters, most very friendly and curious,” Natalie further explained.
She was expecting that it would be another “dog walking beside its owner while crossing the street.”
Instead, the owner signaled the dog to reach out to his paw, to which the cute pooch obliged and stood on its hind legs to do so.
It was the most adorable scene.
But then things got even cuter.
Hand-and-paw, they crossed the street.
The owner held on to the dog’s paw the entire time while the dog scuttled on its hind legs to keep up with its owner and out of the way of traffic.
Natalie thought it was a great experience.
In Nepal, a festival is held called Kukur Tihar. This is to honor the loyalty and friendship that the dogs portray to their humans.
In this celebration, dogs are adorned with floral garlands and crowns. Red marks are also placed on their foreheads signifying sacredness.
No wonder this dog is so loved.
Natalie was so amazed by what she saw that she posted it on her Twitter account and it was worthy to be posted.
The owner should be so proud of how his dog behaved on the busy streets of Kathmandu. Truly a sight to see.
