“Muffin is a very goofy little girl! So affectionate!” Lisa told The Dodo. “Her tail wags and she smiles the moment she sees me. I love having her in the salon.”
Of course, Lisa and Muffin’s relationship, as close as it was, was restricted to when Muffin would stop by for a hair trim.
For dogs, three years is a really long time and for Muffin, she associated Lisa with the grooming salon. Why on earth would Lisa ever be anywhere else? So, when Muffin and Lisa had a recent encounter outside of the shop, absolute hilarity ensued.
Lisa was driving down the street when she happened to spot Muffin and her own out for an afternoon walk. Of course, Lisa just had to pull over to stop and say hello. But – she had no idea that she would really send Muffin for a loop.
“I pulled over and rolled down my window. I called out to her mom, ‘That’s a cute dog you’ve got there!'” Lisa said. “As soon as Muffin heard my voice, she started looking for me!”
Muffin turned around and realized that it was, indeed, Lisa’s voice that she had heard. That’s when the reaction turns into one of pure and total shock.
By the look on Muffin’s face, it’s clear that she didn’t understand that Lisa could possibly be anywhere other than the grooming salon. What the heck was she doing on the street that she talks walks on?! Her hilarious facial expression says it all.
“I think she was totally bamboozled!” Lisa said. “She could not figure out why I wasn’t in the salon.”
After the initial shock wore off, Muffin couldn’t have been happier to see her friend and Lisa gave her favorite little client love and kisses at the car.
What’s even better is that Muffin was able to get some love from her groomer without having to go through any hair or nail trimming! What an amazing bonding moment for these two!
“The bond I have with my clients is the best part of the job,” Lisa said. “It’s a relationship of trust and joy.”
There’s certainly no doubt that Muffin was filled to the brim with joy when she ran into Lisa that day. And one thing is for sure – we’re so glad Lisa had her camera ready for this hilarious moment. Muffin’s facial expression will keep us chuckling for quite some time.
