We’ve all had our hiccups and problems with cars, but this motor problem certainly was one of a kind. Lidiane Braga Carlos was just running a few errands when her car stopped working out of nowhere. Surprised as she was by her vehicle malfunctioning, there was an even bigger surprise waiting for her.
A small pup had made its way inside her car, right under the hood.
Lidiane was driving home from Campo Largo in Brazil when she noticed her car was having troubles. After just a couple of blocks, the car seemed lifeless and wasn’t planning on going any further. Lidiane then stepped out of the vehicle and popped the motor hood, to see if the problem was apparent at first sight.
Instead of a faulty engine, Lidiane found something else entirely: an adorable dog with the largest smile you’ve seen all day hiding right next to the engine.
“It was a big fright! Could you imagine a dog in the engine?” the woman told The Dodo. “I was so worried about whether he was hurt or not.”
The little dog was smiling and miraculously wasn’t hurt at all – there was nothing to be seen and he seemed just like a perfectly healthy little dog.
The smile on his face certainly suggests that he was actually feeling pretty comfortable in there.
Lidiane wasn’t sure what to do next, so she called the fire department for assistance. In the meantime, some people passing were just as surprised as Lidiane was when they saw him sitting in the insides of a car, and the cute little pup was freed before the fire department arrived.
Luckily for Lidiane, her car wasn’t having any technical issues at all. After the dog was freed, her trusty vehicle started just fine. When she finally had her car working again, she took the dog out to the closest veterinarian for an inspection, just to make sure he was doing okay. The two consulted a vet a couple of hours later and the Lidiane’s suspicions were confirmed: the pup was completely fine.
“Thank God he wasn’t hurt,” she said.
As for how the dog actually got inside of Lidiane’s car, that still remains a mistery to this day. The dog doesn’t act like a street dog at all and is rather friendly towards people, and he also didn’t seem underfed at all. Most likely, he only recently ended up alone on the streets or is simply lost and looking for his owner.
At the moment, Lidiane is more than happy to care for the adorable pup until the owner is found. If not, she’ll keep him at her place until he finds his forever home through adoption.
