For a new family, there is always this inevitable fear when it’s about time to introduce their beloved dogs to a new member of the family – a newborn baby.

But in most cases, that fear eventually turns into a beautiful moment when they start to realize the incredible bond forming between their dog and their child.

That’s what exactly happened to this beautiful family.

Dogs have an incredible ability to sense when a woman is pregnant.

According to the American Kennel Club:

“Your dog is smart enough to pick up on these changes during pregnancy, both in a physical way — which is how your body will be changing, your stomach, your smell — and in an emotional way, such as your feelings and your mood,” said Dr. Barrack when she pointed out the effects of changes at home to a dog.

Allison and Matt Ackerman from Boston, Massachusetts, also noticed the same with their adorable dogs Mason and Breck.

And when they were about to bring home and introduce their newborn baby, Jordan, to their furry companions, they felt excited and anxious at the same time.

“When I was pregnant, I think they knew what was going on. When we finally did bring her home, they put it all together,” Allison told The Dodo.

Little did they know that their dogs would turn into gentle furry giants around their new bundle of joy.

From Day 1 onwards.

“We never thought they would take to her the way they did. From the start, they were by her side,” the couple said.

Mason and Breck would always be beside Jordan or “Jojo,” but the former was just extra when it comes to his little human sister.

Where Jordan goes, Mason would follow; he’s literally like her shadow, her furry blanket, and her instant playmate.

There are no dull moments when the two are together, and the Ackermans couldn’t be happier with how things have turned out between their baby and their dogs.

They absolutely love to be around each other. They cuddle and snuggle non-stop, sleep together, and do anything under the sun. They are not just “siblings” but also the best of friends.

Having a big brother means a lot.

Growing up, Jordan didn’t find it hard being around two humongous doggos. She loved every bit of it.

Not only did she gain furry playmates, but in Mason’s case, the dog became Jordan’s guide during an important milestone in her life.

When Jordan was about to take her first few steps, Mason was there and became his support.

Needless to say, the dog was without a doubt happy seeing his little sister’s accomplishment.

“We knew it was any day now when she was just about to take her first steps,” said Allison. “I look over, and she’s leaning on him, standing up. He was like, ‘Okay, I’m here for you.’”

Baby Jordan will surely grow older, and it’s almost safe that Mason is going to be there no matter what happens and as long he is breathing. There is a lot more ahead of them; they have more adventures to take and more beautiful memories to make.
