Nature can be harsh sometimes.
Sometimes, having physical peculiarities could lead to bullying for us humans. It is commonly observed in places all over the world. To animals, bearing one offspring with a peculiarity could lead to it being rejected by its parents or even exiled from the pack because they would think that it is weak and incapable of surviving. This is nature’s harsh reality.

If we look at the bright side, peculiarities are just unique charms that only a few might possess, and that charm could even be a lovable trait for others. Like for example, this particular dog who captivated the hearts of the people with her unique trait.
A couple from Richmond, Virginia named Lily and Savannah fell in love with a Borzoi wolfhound.

Borzoi wolfhounds, also called Walking clouds, are an elegant breed of dogs that were loved by the aristocrats back in the 17th century. These dogs have thin, long faces and a tall stature. Borzois are usually silent dogs, but they are very good hunters, perfect for engaging with large hunting parties.

Back in July 2018, Lily and Savannah came across a particular Borzoi wolfhound pup and they were instantly infatuated by her. They decided to adopt the dog, and that decision changed their lives forever.
It is unbelievable how this pooch’s snout could grow this long.

They named the pup Eris. Eris was just as adorable as any puppies you could find, but they never knew that she would develop a unique trait. As Eris grew older, she developed a peculiarity that captured everyone’s hearts.

She grew an extremely long snout that measures exactly 12.2 inches long. It was not something that Lily and Savannah were expecting. The couple even claimed that her long snout could get her a world record.

Eris’ body was slender, but her snout was something else as well. As her owners posted pictures of her on their social media, the dog immediately captured the internet’s attention. You can see from the pictures that Eris is one happy and energetic dog.

Soon after they created Eris’ Instagram page, she became an online celebrity, with her Instagram reeling in 179k followers.
“We were hoping to share some of the happiness and smiles Eris brings into our house,” the owners shared during an interview with Bored Panda. “In these last few months, it felt more impactful than ever.”
Eris’ owners were so thankful for the appreciation that the kind people on the internet gave them.

They were also overjoyed that sharing Eris’ unique trait brought everyone smiles.
“We’re so glad to be able to add a little tiny moment of light to all of the goodness shining through the world,” the couple said.

Eris not only gives joy to her fans on social media, but she also inspires them and reminds the other pet owners that they should not abandon their pets when they see a slight peculiarity in them. Instead, they need to treasure them.
