Do you ever wonder what if would be like if pets could speak? We can imagine cats to be smooth and occasionally sarcastic with the sassiest comebacks, whereas dogs would be huge balls of love and excitement and say the sweetest things. Although we aren’t yet able to communicate vocally with our dogs (never say never!), a man decided that he would make a hilarious video in which he voiced what his dog was thinking at that moment, and the whole thing seems strangely accurate!
The man cleverly creates a voice-over to play over the clip of his excited dog, and what’s even more clever is that he times the dog’s responses perfectly, so that whenever the dog’s mouth opens, he says a line.
It’s pretty hard to explain without watching the video, so of course, we had to share it with you all. Get ready for some serious laughs!
The hilarious video was shared onto YouTube by Best Friend Services and features a conversation between a dog named Clyde and his owner about his recent trip to the pet store to get a new kitty. Of course, this is hugely exciting news for Clyde, and his adorable reaction has caused the video to have over 5 million views since being posted in 2014, as well as thousands of likes and comments.
At the beginning of the clip, Clyde’s human dad asks him, “Hey remember how you wanted a kitten? I went to the pet store today!”
In response, Clyde opens his mouth in perfect timing and says. “No way!”
“Yep, I did,” his owner replies.
Clyde is clearly becoming excited already. He jumps up and looks towards the door, saying, “Well come on, what are we waiting for? Let’s go!”
But Clyde’s owner isn’t ready to go just quite yet, and tells his excitable pup, “Well hang on, keep your collar on.” The conversation that follows is adorably cute.
“Huh?”
“You wanted a cat?”
“Yep.”
“You wanted a girl?”
“Yep.”
“A tabby?”
Clyde begins to get excited again. “That’s right. Oh I can’t believe you’ve got me a cat! Where is she? Is she out here?”
But like before, Clyde’s owner shoots him down. “Wait you didn’t let me finish,” he says. “So I went to the pet store, and I looked at the snakes.”
“Snakes? Oh bleh,” Clyde says in disappointment.
“But I didn’t get one.” Clyde’s owner jumps in. “I took a look around and I looked at the guinea pigs. You know what guinea pigs are, right? I looked at the mice, gerbils, parrots, newts, hamsters, kittens…”
“Yep, yep, yep- oh that’s it!” Clyde shouts. “That’s where you stop because that’s what you’re going to get me.”
Despairingly for Clyde, his owner isn’t quite done with the list, and he finishes with, “And hermit crabs.”
“Oh come on!” Clyde protests. He stamps his paws in frustration on the ground and looks away from his owner.
“Okay have you calmed down now?” Clyde’s owner asks in response to his little outburst.
“I’m going to chew this couch’s arms right off! I will, I’m telling you.” Clyde replies. “What’s going on?”
“I went to the pet store, saw the turtles…” Clyde’s owner begins to laugh.
At this moment, a tiny meow of a kitten can be heard in the background. Clyde immediately whips his head around in search of the noise. “What was that?”
“Well let me tell you. I went to the pet store, there were shelter kittens, so I picked one up.” Clyde’s owner finally says.
Clyde’s reaction couldn’t be any better. “No way! You brought me a cat!” He exclaims.
Clyde and his owner then go off to see the kitty – though sadly, this clip isn’t included in the video. We can’t get over how well made this video is! The timing of the conversations are brilliant, and it’s certainly put a smile on our faces today. Watch the hilarious video below.
