Dog follows his kids to school and ends up in principal’s office
He didn't mean to be this mischievous. He just wants to make sure the kids are okay, that's all.

We call them fur babies for a reason: because they’re like your children.

Some opt to have pets instead of children in their households. Some people also adopt a pet in addition to having children.

Studies show that having pets around children can benefit their overall growth. Pets contribute to their motor skills, communication, and their emotional intelligence. Children who grew up with pets tend to have more empathy and compassion towards others.

But here’s the thing: pets act like kids, too.

Aside from needing love and care (like your kid), they can wreak havoc and give you doomsday (yes, like your kid). But you see, like your child, they can provide you with joy and laughter that would make you feel they are part of your family.

Sandy, the Labradoodle, is all that.

For the Manthey family, he is part of the family. Karen Manthey, the fur mom, shared with The Dodo how Sandy is very protective of everyone in the household. He wants to be involved in everything they do.

That’s why Sandy went viral because of something that comes with him naturally.

Karen said that he was often bummed when everyone left home for school and work. He always had no choice but to wait for them to come home.

However, one day, Sandy decided he got to do something about this.

While it was frantic inside their home, he saw the perfect opportunity. He snuck out of the house and followed the family all the way to school without anybody noticing. Sneaky little guy, wasn’t he?

Once the children arrived at school, they noticed Sandy’s presence.

People found the dog’s antics funny because… hey, where can you see a dog as sneaky as him? The kids sent him to the principal’s office to wait for their mommy. They tried to call Kathy, but she wasn’t answering.

Meanwhile, the beloved Labradoodle did this to the principal’s office!

That’s when their neighbor saw Sandy, took a snap of him, and sent a text message to Kathy. She asked her if this was her dog – and Kathy couldn’t believe what he did.

Kathy went to school to apologize for the damage he did.

But it’s all good because Sandy brought lots of fun and laughter to the people who witnessed his craziness. The janitor had already replaced the blinds when Kathy arrived, and the staff asked her to email the photo of sandy. They loved him that much!

Despite this, Kathy could attest that Sandy is a very obedient dog.

“He’s actually quite obedient. His heart just sometimes overtakes his obedience training,” Kathy told The Dodo.

She even shared an adorable story of his being protective.

“On camping trips, if the family is separated (with some members half a mile away from each other), he’ll spend all his time running back and forth to check on each group to make sure everyone is safe.”

That’s a good boy right there! Check out a video about Sandy below.
