You’ve heard the saying that a dog is a man’s best friend. And it’s true. Especially when it comes to cowboys and their pups, there seems to be some kind of special connection.
These dogs love to follow their owners everywhere. For one man by the name of Chris Petersen, he and his pooch Syd are more than best friends. They also share a similar talent.
Taking a drive
One of Syd’s favorite things to do with her owner Chris is to take drives into the countryside. They do this often, which gives them even more bonding time. Just the two of them with the windows rolled down.
Turn on the radio
One of the first things Chris does after starting his truck is to turn on the radio. Although he enjoys several styles of music, country is by far his favorite. And come to find out, it’s Syd’s favorite, too.
Just an ordinary day
On one of their many drives, everything started as normal. But soon, a country song started to play. And it just so happened to be the one that both Chris and Syd love the most.
“Look at You Girl”
That song? “Look at You Girl” by the famous country singer Chris Ledoux. As they’d done many times, Syd’s owner began to sing along. Let’s just say that he has some serious vocal talent so listening to him isn’t hard to do.
Then something happens
At one point, Syd decided she didn’t think it was fair that only her owner got to sing. In a video uploaded to social media, that’s garnered more than 251,000 views, you can see something brewing in her eyes. She believes the song would sound better as a duet.
Syd was right
So, Syd joined in. And she was serious about her performance. Lifting her head just as high as she could get it, she began to sing along with her owner … well, more like howl but we’ll call it singing.
The sweetest part
Sure, having his dog take a drive in the country with him was super sweet. It was also sweet to see the two singing a duet. But the best part … Chris continually looks over at his pup with admiration and love in his eyes.
The real deal
If we were Chris Ledoux, we’d be feeling a little nervous. After all, this guy and his dog are true performers. Not only can they sing but they also express the right emotions for this particular song or at least Syd does.
You can’t help but smile
As Syd lifts and lowers her head while belting out “Look at You Girl,” you can’t help but smile. Even her owner grins a lot throughout the video. He’d probably like to bust out laughing but he doesn’t want to hurt his pup’s feelings.
Who knows what the future holds?
You never know. Chris and Syd might decide to take their act on the road. But more than likely, they’ll just keep going for drives in the country while listening to their favorite music.
