When first introducing your baby to your dog, there’s no telling how they’re going to behave around the new arrival.
Some dogs may become jealous after being used to getting all of your attention, whilst others might ignore your little one and act as if they don’t exist. But no matter how your dog reacts, over time they will grow to love the new member of the family and treat them with respect.
That’s exactly what happened with this sweet pooch and his human little brother in an adorable video that we came across on YouTube. The little guy may only be in the first few months of his life, but the pair share such a special bond already, and it’s so sweet to see.
The video was uploaded onto YouTube by baywatch106ify and viewers loved it so much that it instantly went viral, with over 8 million views and 8k likes. The sweet clip shows the Labrador nudging the baby’s blanket so that it covers the sleeping child, and he even appears to try and tuck each side in with his nose. The baby sleeps on peacefully, unaware that his brother is tucking him in to keep him extra safe!
Once the lab’s job is done, he stretches and looks over at his little brother as if to say: “Gosh, it’s so tiring being a mom.”
Unsurprisingly, people in the comments praised the lovely pup for being so loving and affectionate towards his little brother.
One user pointed out:
‘That dog wasn’t just covering the baby he was tucking in the blanket ether to keep the baby warmer or from rolling off.’
Whilst another gushed:
‘The covering along with the “tucking in” with the nose…dang I love dogs!’
Some people argued that the pooch could have mistaken his little brother for a bone and was actually ‘burying’ him under the blankets, but as it turns out, dogs are actually really smart! One user reasoned:
‘Dogs are actually excellent at learned behaviour and this dog has probably seen the baby being covered with a blanket before. They can also be very protective and nurturing of infants whether or not the infant is canine. So I have no trouble seeing this as a dog making sure the baby was covered.’
This adorable pair aren’t the only ones to have such a special bond. Baby Liam and his dog Bronn made headlines when they were caught on camera playing together, and it’s so sweet to watch! Bronn leaps around his human brother whilst the little guy is in fits of laughter.
What makes the whole thing even better is Bronn’s reaction when he finds out he’s famous! The pooch catches himself on TV and jumps up and down in pure excitement. He’s literally jumping for joy!
