Three friends are better than one.
Sunny, a mini Goldendoodle from Branford, Connecticut, is the proud watchdog of three newborn triplets. The dog is so enamored by the new family members that he checks up on them regularly to make sure everything is just right.
Don’t mess with Sunny’s pack.
New mom, Lauren Barnes, posted a clip on TikTok of Sunny checking on ‘his’ babies and it quickly went viral. The adorable video that Barnes captioned as ‘cuteness overload’ is melting hearts all over the place.
Barnes has been sharing videos of her sweet triplets since their birth and Sunny has been front and center for most of them.
Three peas in a pod.
In the video, all three triplets are snuggled in and resting on the couch. Everything seems in order but just to make sure, here comes Sunny to double-check. The two-month-old babies seem to be waiting on their furry friend. It’s obvious this little morning check is a loving routine for the family.
One kiss for you.
Sunny gently nuzzles one of the triplets while standing on a nearby ottoman. He stretches his body over to the couch so he can get a good look at these little humans. He lingers just long enough to make sure baby number one is happy and content.
And a kiss for you…
Then it’s time to check on baby number two. Sunny looks over, stretching his body once again. The baby seems to perk up and watch Sunny with her bright eyes.
And then one final check.
Baby number three receives the final check with a sniff and a kiss. Yep, all seems ok here according to Sunny. ‘My job here is done,’ – Sunny the dog.
All good mom.
Sunny looks up at the camera as if to let mom know everything is A-OK. He can now rest knowing that his babies are doing well. What a good dog.
Sunny doesn’t hate a good snuggle.
In another video, Barnes shared an adorable photo of Sunny joining in on the snuggles. Sunny is keeping his babies warm and comfortable while keeping watch. Bravo Sunny.
Most dogs love children and babies but it takes a special dog to keep a watchful eye out while providing the best cuddles. Sunny clearly enjoys being near these babies and I’m sure the feeling is mutual. The kids will grow up alongside Sunny and have a constant best friend nearby.
