We’ve all seen that trope about dogs and cats and how they hate each other. But we’ve also seen them get along quite well when they all live in the same household together.
This makes sense if they were raised together and lived together, but it’s rare to see these two species get along in the wild.
However, there is video proof showing that it can happen. A man saw a dog who was about to give birth so he set up a little doghouse for her to protect her from the rain and cold.
He was shocked by what he found when he returned back to check up on her. He found a stray cat and her kittens, as well as the dog and her puppies together inside the doghouse. The mamma dog welcomed the pregnant mamma cat into her doghouse so that they both could give birth in safety together. The man decided to capture the tender moment on video and was happy to see that his one act of kindness turned into two.
“Look, everyone, how cool!” he said in the video, according to The Dodo.”The little dog here gave birth on the first of September. And yesterday, the 7th day of September, the cat entered the little house and gave birth together with her.”
The poor cat was probably searching for a warm place to hide out when she spotted the doghouse, luckily there was a welcoming samaritan inside.
“How cool, People are gonna think I’m lying,” the man said. “They entered the house to give birth. No one put them there. So we have three puppies and four kittens. Where ate the kitties? I can’t really film it, but it’s incredible to see! But look it like a maternity ward in here!”

Even though these two species aren’t said to get along, these ladies had each other’s back. They helped to keep each other warm and snuggle their babies. The looks on this dog and cat’s face though are priceless.
They look as if they are saying “Do you mind? Can I help you? A little privacy please!”
They look so peaceful with the dog to one side nursing her pups while the cat is adjacent from her nursing her kittens. It really is a sight to see. Check it out in the video below.
