With their gorgeous spotted coats, dalmatians are probably one of the most easily recognizable dog breeds. Dalmatians really are a one-of-a-kind breed, but looking unique can be a little lonely sometimes.
So when a dog from Kootwijkerbroek, The Netherlands met his doppelganger, he instantly became besotted with him! But this story isn’t quite what you’d think, because it turns out the this dalmatian’s lookalike is actually a horse – and they really do make quite the pair.
Meet Jack Sparrow (great name), a beautiful dalmatian who has befriended two very unlikely buddies. Their adorable friendship first blossomed a few years back, when Jack’s human mom, Greetje Hakvoor, introduced him to their new 5-year-old black and white spotted Shetland pony named Napoleon. As soon as Jack laid eyes on the horse, he probably thought that he was meeting another one of his kind at long last, and they immediately became friends.
Since then, Jack has had another friend introduced into his life – a spotted black and white 9-year-old Appaloosa stallion named Nevada. Greetje often shares adorable snaps and videos of the trio on her Instagram, greetjehakvoort, and we just can’t get enough of their adorable friendship.
Naturally, Greetje’s account is already proving popular, with over 70.6 thousand followers. We never thought we’d be jealous of a horse or dog’s modeling skills before – but these three can’t take a bad picture! Did someone say modeling contract?
So how can three different creatures get on so well? Well according to Greetje, it’s all about harmony. Apparently, Jack and Nevada are very chilled out creatures while Napolean is a little feistier. As long as the balance is right, then the friendship can work!
It’s unclear whether Jack is aware that these horses aren’t actually giant dogs, or whether he knows that his hooved friends are a little different to him, and isn’t too fussed. Either way, the friendship between the trio is adorable to see, and we can’t help wishing that we had our own spotted dog/horse trio!
