It’s a big enough mission giving birth to just one baby, so we’ll always be in awe of animals that can give birth to a whole litter at one time, with absolutely no pain relief! Despite probably not knowing what the heck is going on, animals are total troopers, and begin caring for their babies from the minute they’re brought into the world.
In fact, there’s nothing sweeter than seeing a maternal mama, so when we came across some totally adorable photos of a dachshund new mom, we just knew that we were going to fall in love!
But what’s even more adorable is that this new mama even managed to squeeze in a maternity photo before her babies were born, and it’s the most brilliantly extra thing we’ve ever seen.
A dachshund was expecting her litter any day now, and her human mom wanted to celebrate the occasion with some handmade baby bonnets- for the puppies of course. A request was also put in for a special little dachshund sized outfit for a maternity shoot, and Becca knew that she couldn’t turn down such a unique opportunity!
The maternity photoshoot was a success, and Becca proudly shared the photo with the caption:
“So this mama just had her babies and what do you do after a maternity photo shoot??? The newborn session. 6 tiny puppy sized bonnets being delivered today!!!”
Becca then fashioned six tiny puppy hats, in turquoise, pale blue, lilac, pink, blue, and pale green, making sure she left holes either side for each pup’s little ears to stick out from. When the day finally arrived and the puppies were born, their human mom put on each of their hats, and they looked so adorable that she had to snap some pictures!
But that wasn’t all. The puppies’ owner also made sure to snap a photo of the proud mama with her beautiful babies, and we can’t get over how adorable they all look! Have you ever seen a more beautiful family photo?
We think that dog maternity photos are a brilliant way to hold onto those beautiful memories forever! We absolutely love the addition of Becca’s crochet hats, too. Check out babybybecca for more of her pretty designs.
