You never know what (or who) you may encounter when out and about! The world has a funny way of putting us in situations we never expected. Often, we have a choice to do something kind or turn a blind eye in those situations. Eduardo Reis was placed smackdab in the middle of one of those not too long ago!

Eduardo and his friends are cyclists! If you have ever seen those people in the super tight clothing and the streamlined helmets, you’ve seen a cyclist! It requires regular training and practice to stay in top condition. Over the course of a ride, you could cover miles and miles of road.

With so much ground to cover, you can potentially see a lot of crazy things!

For a traditional road race, a biker could travel as far as between two cities!

“A traditional road race is generally the longest kind of road bicycle race run by USA Cycling. These races are run on paved roads and follow a course of a specific length, which is often from 30 to 60 miles in the amateur categories. They can be point-to-point or loop routes and can be run on closed, partially-closed or open roads with or without controlled traffic safety measures in place.” – Road Bike Rider

In a car, it’s easy to fly by things. On a bike, you aren’t moving as fast and can easily see the world and the environment around you! That was exactly what happened with Eduardo and his friends. One of the bikers pulled over to fix a flat and saw a puppy across the road.

The team was in the middle of nowhere, and there was no reason for a dog to be this far out.

The make matters worse, the dog appeared to be a puppy! Someone had driven way out here to simply dump the puppy that they didn’t want. The worse part was that all the people who were around were on bikes! How could they help a little dog when they were miles away from getting a car?

Eduardo knew that he couldn’t just leave the dog there and did something awesome!

Riding by, he picked up the dog in his arms and placed him in his lap! The group finished their training with a dog sitting on the bike the entire time. They even decided to name the little dog while they pedaled.

Knowing he couldn’t just leave the dog behind, Eduardo scooped up the pup for the rest of the ride! Warrior was happy to be saved and clung to his rescuer as the group finished their training. – Paw My Gosh

The stray dog was saved by such an incredible coincidence that you would think someone intervened. Imagine if the one man didn’t get a flat tire! They wouldn’t have seen Warrior and he would have been left. Thankfully, we don’t have to think about things like that.

Eduardo is a good man! He even took the pup into his own home while they searched for a home for him. Now, Warrior has a loving home, all thanks to a flat tire and a stranger’s kindness.
