It goes without saying that most dogs will try to make friends with any animal. Dogs are loving and caring by nature and they love having interactions with humans and other animals, so when introduced to somebody new they will act as if they’re already the best of friends.
With this in mind, we weren’t surprised when we stumbled across a dog and a crow who were such close friends that they were actually playing together!
Hilariously, the crow seemed to be the one who was in charge of the friendship, despite being less than a third of the dog’s size.
This unlikely duo first met when the pup’s dad rescued the crow as a baby.
He was orphaned and would not have survived out in the wild by himself, so his surrogate dad looked after him until he was old enough to fly into the wild and take care of himself.
During that time, not only did the crow get used to having the German shepherd as a brother, but a friendship actually began to develop. Their owner would often play fetch with his fur baby, and soon the crow began to join in! He managed to capture one of their games on camera, and since being posted onto Rumble the video has racked up an impressive 365,000 plays.
The video was captioned:
‘Here we have such an unusual friendship of a dog and a crow. How awesome is that this dog accepts this crow into forming a friendship.
After discovering an abandoned baby crow in the woods, this man brought it home to raise it.
Quickly it grew fond of his pet German Shepherd and the two have bonded ever since.
Watch them take turns playing fetch with a ping pong ball!’
At the beginning of the video, the owner rolls the ping pong ball in the direction of the dog and his crow friend.
The crow squawks loudly at his brother as if to say: “Go on, pick it up!” The German Shepherd does as he’s told, then he drops the ball and returns it to his owner.
The next time, the ball rolls slightly towards the crow, and he nudges it with his beak so it rolls towards his brother, then he gives another loud squawk. He’s just making sure that this pooch knows how to play the game!
Despite being huge in comparison to the crow, we can’t help but feel that the German Shepherd is a little bit scared of his friend! He’ll certainly do whatever he can to please him. Dogs really are such big softies.
The owner then tries rolling the ball further away, but instead of the pooch chasing after it, the crow gets there first! He hops after the ball and then begins to nudge it back to his friend with his beak.
This unlikely pair have provided everybody with the best entertainment, and we hope they’re still friends to this day! Watch the hilarious video below.
